260 - Phone chaos

Tuesday, 27 May 2014
Today has been a long day. I woke up this morning with the plan to sell my old I phone (which eventually I managed to do), get a contract upgraded to the HTC One in Champagne/gold colour (which eventually we managed) and go and see Dean in Hospital (which we didn't manage). So I'm going to go and see him one day later in the week, maybe Thursday because Friday is own a pony day, Saturday I help at the stables all day, Sundays I tend to not do a lot and then it's the end of the week.

I finally have a phone that I can charge in my house as well, I can't remember if I told you but I got the Sony Xperia Z1 in March. About a month if not longer ago it started only being able to be charged on my car phone charger (it wouldn't work off the mains socket or off my laptop), I know weird right? So today I managed to get the HTC One in a metallic gold colour. It's a lot lighter than my Sony Xperia and so far I'm loving it! I've moved all my pictures across from my Xperia to the HTC now all I have left to do is figure out messages and notes! I'm sure it can't be too hard to figure out, right?

I also heard from Jack today, he's on the induction wing at portland or he was this time last week. He says he's getting on all right but hates being away from everyone and he's also sorted it so that when we visit him we get to see him twice once on the saturday and once on the Sunday so that will be nice. Now it's just deciding on how I'm going to get there and where to stay? URGHHH. That's way too much thinking for tonight, I'll think about it when the time comes to it.

But now I'm ready for bed and to go to sleep.

So Until Next Time

261 - Pictures and a Quick update.

Monday, 26 May 2014

so here's some more photographs that you guys have missed out on of me and Gatsby. These are the most recent lesson photographs I have got and in this lesson we were focusing on the canter and keeping it up hill and bouncing. Gatsby was great, I can't say that my riding was perfect but we are getting there slowly but surely.

Tonight was a pony club evening and we were doing the perfect paddock badge. Which I passed so I have now got another new badge to sew on to my pony club hoody which is great! I got everything right and then got half an hour of fussing and cuddling mr Gatsby. I love this horse to pieces! He lost another shoe on Sunday on his way to a dressage competition and it can't be put back on for another week and a half. Which will limit the amount of work that we do. However it is Own A Pony Day on Friday 9 until 2pm. Then Saturday is my weekly lesson and the day that I help out. On Wednesday Morning from 8 until 10 I am also helping out at the stables so I'm keeping nice and busy.

On top of all of this I've also started learning Zumba. I told you guys that I was on a mission to get fit. Yesterday I bought a Zumba set that included the shakers and 5 different DVD's. For the past two days I have done an hour long Zumba using the step by step DVD. Tomorrow I move up to a new DVD that is more intense. I'm off to see Dean in hospital tomorrow as he has had a big operation so he isn't very well. So my mum and I are off to visit him.

New blogger app

Wednesday, 21 May 2014

hiya guys,

I'm trying this new app on my phone for weeks I've been trying to get it to work and it's finally decided that it wants to work!  I've not got much to update you all about really.

I'm going out for lunch with my mum and uncle today at the white Hart which i haven't been to before. I've also decided that I am on a get fit mission again that means time to stop snacking at night time like i have been doing, I'm also going to be doing the 30 day ab challenge. That means sit ups, push ups, planking etc. Also back to walking my dog again and going to be doing the couch to 5k training. So we'll have to see how it goes.

But that's all for now guys.

17th May 2014 - Lesson On Gatsby

Saturday, 17 May 2014
I rode Gatsby today for my weekly lesson and it was amazing. With everything that was going on last week I'd needed a week just me and Gatsby to chill out and do what we do best, being us. This week I was straight back to working him an outline and trying to work him in an outline at the canter as well. We are slowly progressing to be able to do it but that is the operative word, slowly. We will get there in the end. We warmed up in walk making sure that he was nice and warm, that his muscles were working and also to give me a feel of him working in his new bit (can't remember what he's got now, but when I can remember I'll let you guys know). He was really responsive and listening in this bit even if he did try to hang off my right side at times but plenty of half halts and flexion to the right soon managed to sort this out. We then moved up to the trot work this was quite simple he was forward and listening and actually doing what I wanted him to do. I soon learnt that the key to me and Gatsby working well together is me taking a firm hold of him from the start so thats what I did and will carry on to do. I did a bit of lateral work, leg yielding mainly but attempting to do some shoulder in as well. It was nice to see him listening and doing what I asked him to do. We've got to work on the leg yields more though as he does attempt to go out through the shoulder. I then moved on to doing some canter work. Recently I've been working really hard to keep my hands close together and I found that this improved my canter work to no end. It was amazing, we got some bits of canter in an outline but lots of nice transitions. It really did feel great! By the time we had finished doing canter work it was time to get off and it was safe to say I was aching like mad by then!

That's all for now! I do have photographs from this lesson but I haven't gotten around to putting them on my computer yet so they will have to be in a different post.

Peace and Quiet

Friday, 16 May 2014

See guys I told you I was going to get back in to the habit of blogging again. It's taken me a while to get back in to the swing of things but I am glad to be back again. I'd forgotten how much writing a blog manages to keep me busy and keep me entertained when I'm having a bad day.

Today has been another day where I've not done a lot, I waited in for the post this morning hoping that something would come from Jack, I know i'm being overly optimistic but a girl can wish, right? Nothing came though, I then curled up with Angel and caught up on Jeremy Kyle and The Real House Wives of Miami. It was one of the reunions they do and I've got to say it bored the hell out of me this time which is unusual. Then I called in to see Jacks mum for a bit as she was home alone, so we kept each other company had a catch up and a chat and then some lunch as well so that was really nice. Came back home and went back to sleep. I've found that all I'm really wanting to do at the minute is curl up and go to sleep. I called in to the local youth group that I used to go to but after everything that has happened between Evie and I, then me not bothering with people because of her it just wasn't as fun as it used to be. Don't get me wrong it was nice to be out the house and out and about but it wasn't that interesting and I ended up getting my mum to come and get me early.

But that's all for now, tomorrow I've got my weekly riding lesson, so I'm going to try and get some sleep now.

Picture time Part one

Thursday, 15 May 2014
Hiya Guys,

I can't say that I've really done much today other than finding myself sleeping lots. After the past week being quite stressful as well as the few weeks before leading up to the court date it's safe to say I've hit my barrier where all I really want to do is sleep. The problem is though that I am sleeping during the day and then it gets to 11pm roughly and I find myself wide awake and on my laptop looking for something to do that is going to make me feel sleepy. I've tried reading a book and I start to feel really sleepy but then the minute that I turn the light off and put the book down, bang, I'm wide awake again.

As I've not really done a lot I thought that I would take this opportunity to post some pictures up from the last time that I jumped Gatsby (also the first time I fell off him). Most of these pictures were taken by the boyfriend but some were also taken by my amazing mum. So here you go guys. :)

Really do love this picture :D

Not the worlds biggest jump but we are slowly getting there :D

Trips out for Lunch and Acrylic Nails

Wednesday, 14 May 2014
hey y'all.

Today has been a fairly uneventful day but its also been a really good day. I've been able to catch up on some sleep as well as having some just me time. I got woken up this morning by my phone ringing, at first I just wanted to roll over and not look at it but then I realised that it could be Jack so that soon kicked my ass in to gear to answer the phone. It's a good job I did as well because it was Jack that was ringing me. I miss him like mad so being able to talk to him was great and he says he's going to try and ring me tomorrow.

Then when I got off the phone with him I bought the post in to my mum, as only the day before  I had got something in the post from him at his mums address I wasn't expecting a letter in the post from him today so that was a pleasant surprise. I'm definitely going to have to keep a better look out on the post because I can imagine that I'm going to be hearing from him lots.

After this my mum went in to uni to drop off a application that I needed to hand in as well as get a form signed that my mum needed to send off. We then went to Pompadour, to buy some acrylic nail kits. So when I got in the first thing I did was attempt to do my own acrylic nails and it worked out better than I expected it to (pictures to follow later).

Before I went home though my mum treated me to lunch out at the Fox and Hounds pub which is literally two minutes down the road from my house. I hadn't been expecting it so it was a nice surprise and it managed to cheer me up. I had Haddock and chips and oh my god it was really nice. I really enjoyed it and I also enjoyed spending time with my mum. There's nothing to report on the horse front as I haven't been up to my stables since Saturday.

Tomorrows post won't include much writing and will be mainly pictures.

Emotional few days

Tuesday, 13 May 2014
Hiya guys,

Well I've not got much to tell you when it comes to the riding side of life, because it's not going too well at the minute.

Friday I took a trip to Devon, with my boyfriend, his mum and dad. You might all be thinking about that was nice, well I can tell you it now that it wasn't. Before Jack and I got together he was an idiot and got himself in to loads of trouble. That ended up in him having to go to court. Well on Friday he got sentenced to two years, he got 87 days taken off because of the amount of time that he had been on tag, and got told that he would only do 9 months. However if he is well behaved there is a possibility that he'll do just under 7 months and be out before christmas. It's hard and I miss him like mad but I know that one day sooner or later he'll be back and when he is back we can continue on with our lives and get things on track and to where we want them to be.

Saturday I tried to ride Gatsby but the weather was against me, then with everything that had happened on Friday I was also feeling incredibly emotional. I got off twice because it wouldn't stop raining and the wind was also starting to get to the point of it being unsafe to ride in. I didn't really have a lesson on Saturday, it was more a chance for me and Gatsby to do what we wanted and to be just us, and I really appreciated that Fiona let me have the time that I needed with my big fella. For the last 20 minutes of my lesson I curled up in Gatsby's stable with him (the end of the lesson got cancelled because of the weather). He made me feel a lot better and calmer. I don't know how he does it but he always seems to manage it.

But anyway, I'm off to bed now.

Night y'all

Riding Gatsby - 3rd May 2014 - No Stirrup Work

Sunday, 4 May 2014
Hiya guys,

Saturday I got back on Gatsby. It was the first time that I had rode him since I fell off so even though it was Gatsby I was feeling nervous. Oh and to make matters worse Gatsby's owner Jenny was there and was watching, while I never mind her being there I was starting to feel really nervous that I had to ride Gatsby well to impress her. I know mad logic right?

We decided that we were going to do some work without Stirrups as Fiona said that we wouldn't be doing any jumping and while I was kind of gutted I was also relieved to have some time away form that and focus on what I know I CAN do well. For ages you've all heard me say I wouldn't do canter without stirrups, well I've got over that mind block and now really enjoy cantering without stirrups all though the transitions down are bouncy as hell. It does really help me to improve my position and balance and work on me keeping myself where I need to be. I got some really nice outline work in the canter as well and while I felt at times like the canter was getting faster and carried away I was able to stay with him and I didn't fall off! So what more can I ask for, right? The canter work went really well and we were able to do circles as well as laps of the school. I am really happy with how much my riding is improving.

Tomorrow I will put loads of pictures up from my riding over the past few months. You will see them all but rather than put them all up in one post I'm going to spread them out over lots of posts.

I'm back for good!

Thursday, 1 May 2014
Apologies for it being a while guys but I am now back and fully updating again! I've missed writing a blog and getting to know about all your lives to. So I am back and will be posting everyday no matter how short the post is. As quite a lot is going on I'm going to use bullet points to highlight the main things that are going on in both my personal life and my riding life so here goes guys enjoy :). Lots of pictures too!

  • Well the most recent update in my riding Career is that I fell off Gatsby. Yep you read that right after 3-4 years of riding the wonderful Gatsby I finally came off him. We got a bit over excited coming up to a jump and he over jumped it and took off way to early. Because of this I lost my balance (so it wasn't his fault) and ended up landing on the floor but hey at least it was dry!
  • I've started doing a lot more work with out stirrups, it took me a big leap of faith and of course riding Gatsby to be able to get the courage to be able to canter without stirrups. The amount of trust that I have in that horse is unreal and even after the fall I am still looking forward to riding him.
  • I've started riding Vettie more including riding him in a dressage competition that we came in fourth place in (out of 9) so i'm just happy to not be last.  I need to remember though that I can ride and that I am to keep smiling and stay calm.
  • I now occasionally ride a horse called Leo, Kelly's new horse as unfortunately Rascal had to be put down. While we are on sad news Hazel and Tom have also been put to sleep so it's been a rough few months at the stables.
Now on to personal life:
  • I've almost finished my first year at University, which is really weird to think about but at the same time also really exciting because it means that I am a step closer to doing what I want to do
  • I am still dating Jack, things aren't always easy with court dates and what is coming up but we are making it work and to me that's what's important. We have our fair share of arguments but we know how to work things out in the end.
  •  Totally random but I bought myself a Pandora Charm Bracelet for my 19th Birthday, boy do I feel old saying that. Aha, the weird things that I think.
  • Oh and finally I got a new car, I was having to many problems on my little green mini so I am now the proud owner of a nightfire red mini with racing stripes on it.

But to be honest that's all that is really going on at the minute. My life is pretty uneventful but I promise you guys I am going to be back to religiously updating my posts again as I have really missed blogging. Oh and the fact I have MILLIONS of pictures to share with you guys.
