It's been a while since I have posted guys but things have been pretty hectic here. Jack is now home again and I think it's taking him a bit longer to settle in than he thought that it was going to. But it's good to have him back. Uni is going okay, I've got two of my final prints to do this week and then thats part of one module done. I'm in uni now and we are talking a portraits but as per usual the teacher is wandering off the subject and now talking about something completely different.

On to the horse riding it's going okay, I've done some canter work with Gatsby recently and we did some canter poles which was fun. We did it during my lesson with Elaine but there was a bad end to the lesson. Elaine was riding Tubby and he tripped over a pole and he fell, he ended up landing on top of Elaine's leg. Luckily nothing is broken just lots of ligament damage so she's been told that she needs plenty of rest. I get Tubby on loan starting from this Sunday and think that I will be riding four days a week. In two weeks time I've got my dressage test with Gatsby, the practicing is all going well I just need to wait and see whether the actual thing will go just as well. But now I need to get back to doing my uni work so I'll talk to you guys soon.

An Eventful Day

Well today has been a long but eventful day, I have had two really good rides on two fantastic horses. A day full of horses, face planted the floor off a horse and am now aching and ready for bed, but tomorrow I am off to see Jack, then he's home wednesday.

So the first ride of the day was on Vettie, we were working on maintaining consistency in the outline in both walk and trot. It went really well, as long as we kept his pace moving and forward we were fine. Our best work was our trot work, where we maintained a great self carriage. I am so happy with the work that we did. We did lots of walk trot transitions doing just short blasts of trot work. We also did lots of circles but we did a small amount of lateral work at the minute just sticking to doing leg yields.

My second ride of the day was on Tubby (the horse that I am going to part loan) and this is where I face planted the ground. Tubby needs some work with getting on him, he likes to move off. I'd got my foot partly in the stirrup when he decided to trot off, I got my leg over but lost balance and fell off the other side and face planted the floor, I hit my nose and face first on the floor, followed by the rest of me and I landed on my stomach. It was painful but I got back up fairly quickly and got back on him.

When I'd got on him we worked on getting him to work long and low and then slowly picking up the contact and getting him in to an outline. The key was to maintain the outline. We worked in just the walk at the moment, we had some lovely and well maintained outline work and he was such a pleasure to work with. I need to flex him more towards the outside than I do the inside of the school. Once I had it figured out and had it worked on how to get him in to an outline the lesson went really well. I then cooled him down.

I can not wait to see the what the future is going to bring with this horses, I think we are going to have lots of good moments, and I am super excited. I'm going to make sure I have a good amount of outline work that gets maintained in the walk before building up to doing anything else. But for now my face and everywhere else is hurting so i'm off to sleep.

Well guys I have been quite quiet on here for a few days because I have been waiting to tell you some exciting news but until it was official I didn't want to put it on here and jinx it. On Monday Night I got an amazing opportunity that I couldn't resist. Starting next month I will be part loaning Tubby. I will still be doing my competition with Gatsby in March but I will also be getting Tubby on part loan so I will be riding a LOT more, getting fitter and getting more experience. I've also been told that in time I'll be able to do competitions with him. I'm super excited. The full details have still got to be sorted out but I am so excited for such a wicked opportunity. I'll now have more horse things to blog about and lots more to tell you :D.
Meet Tubby :D.
I'm off to my stables tomorrow in between feeling ill and aching but on the plus side I have my car back! So that will make it easier. But now I've shared my exciting news with you I'm off to sleep. Also ONE WEEK today until Jack is back!

Night Everyone

sorry for not posting in a few days guys it has been a pretty insane week and between being at the stables, going to see Jack, getting snowed in at Jack's house with Mandy, Darren and George, and trying to get my uni work done and ahead it is safe to say that things are a little hectic. I was poorly Tuesday and Wednesday think I had a 48 hour sickness bug thing but not 100% sure. Wednesday I worked at my stables. Thursday I saw Jack. Friday I spent the day with Mandy, after seeing Jack I had gone back to his house for Tea, however the snow got that bad I ended up staying there for three days. Saturday I was supposed to have a lesson but snow caused that to be cancelled, so I went to see Ella for her first birthday. Sunday (today) I haven't done a lot, of done some uni work and I've caught up on some sleep but that has been about it.

Tomorrow I've got a full day at University, followed by Pony Club. Then my CBT therapy thing that I have to go to for the car accident I was in over a year ago. So for now i'm off to bed. Tomorrow i'll be back with a much more interesting horse filled post!

Until next time
