Textiles Project - Photographs

My skin looks so pale, I'm naturally really pale some pictures show it and other pictures don't this one does. Another side view to show my loss of weight, but you can also see the baggy harem  pants that cover the legs up for the more weight conscious dancer but also allowed movement. Funny Angle, mum took these pictures at an angle because when I am taking pictures I often take them at an odd angle. Don't look quite as pale but I love the framing that goes around this picture.  I just like this photo because you can see all the different colours but you don't see all the different garments. These are steps that are in my garment the steps allowed me to take pictures in a different pose but also allowed me to show the contrast between the bright, bold and vivid colours that I use and the natural colours that you see on a daily basis. It's days like this that you can see my artistic side. Love the pink look that my hair has in this pictu...

Results Day Repeatition

UPDATE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSTED ON THURSDAY BUT FOR SOME REASON IT SAVED TO DRAFTS AND NEVER GOT PUBLISHED SO HERE YOU ALL GO :) There are some days that I just hate and today is one of them after being nervous last night about my results day today I didn't sleep, then when I got up I was dreading getting them I didn't have a good feeling and I was right not to, once again I got a U on the re-take of my textiles exam. My textiles teacher thinks it's just because I'm not good at the exam technique because she knows I know the work but it doesn't make it any less disappointing! After that I came home and just slept because I didn't feel like doing anything, then I did some revision on the highway code when I woke up and went in to see how my Nan was doing and she seems to be a lot brighter, my sister then came over with her boyfriend and my nephew to visit my Nan so I got to play on the floor with Brody for a couple of hours, he then decided that he wan...

Busy Days and Nan's Return

Today was another pretty much full day in school, when I went in I had got double textiles I used the time to finish off my final garment which was roughly three inches of beading, so that it is finished four weeks early I'm really happy with this as normally I still have loads to do near the end and that's not the case this time. I then had my lunch time, I spent some time looking at Mini's trying to find out a rough price, and also looked at personalized plates as originally it was said that I would get my mum's plate which is L12 ASR, which is my mum's name Liz and my initials at the end, but I saw one that I liked that was 'MM02 AMB', the amb part would stand for amber, MM stands for Mini Milk which is what my sister used to call with me, and 02 was just two random numbers.  I then had English and we were looking more in depth at the second scene of the White Devil, as this is the exam book and I want to get the best understanding as I can, my Engli...

Textiles AS is Finally over!

Today was my day for my retake of my AS textiles Exam and I went in feeling confident about it, I had revised a lot this time I knew my stuff and I was ready for whatever was going to come up. I was sitting right at the back of the hall, which i preferred and there wasn't that many people, that were doing other exams, well other than my entire textiles class that was retaking the exam. The first section was really easy and was on fibre's which I had been revising with my mum whilst washing my hair after we had been swimming. The next section that we had to answer was to do with environmental and ethical issues, I also found this quite simple, although with having broken my right hand twice, my hand was really starting to hurt by this point, but I just ignored it and got on with doing my paper that was the important thing. Then the final section was to do with what fibre blends, fabrics, embellishments and fastenings make for a good school skirt, we then had to judge between tw...

Day before the exam

Today is the day before my textiles retake exam that I told you guys about earlier in the year. In the lesson today we decided that it would be beneficial to do a past paper as this would get us used to the layout and the set up of the questions. We decided that we also wanted to get a feel for how the paper was marked so we did one question and then had to mark it. I think that I marked it fairly and i even had to get my mum to recount my marks because I was surprised when I got 50 marks this was a B, we can safely say that it is an improvement from the last textiles mark that was a U. After this we were supposed to have English, well that didn't happen only three of the people turned up for the lesson so we got sent away to do some revision as I had spent all of lunch revising I decided that it was time to just relax and chill out! So went to the sixth form centre, and sat with some mates and while they played chase, I got my diary out and wrote the majority of the important...

going mad!

Today I slept up until 1:30pm after a rather rough nights sleep because of ache's and pains waking me up none stop! Took me forever to fall asleep but then did manage to sleep and mummy decided that it was best that I stayed asleep with having my textiles exam tomorrow, which involves two hours of both writing and drawing and I've got to manage to wash my hair some time tonight. Update for you all on how I am feeling slightly better, but deffo not 100% better. My head is still really hurting but i suppose that is to be expected with having a concussion and have been sick today as well. My hand is really saw and aching and feels exactly like it does when I broke it last time. Mum emailed my school teacher (head of sixth form) today to say that they might need to sort out special circumstances for my exam, and was expecting that I would get a fine that's what has been done! But Mrs Walton just replied and said that she would have to check whether i was allowed them or not...
