A day out with my mum

Well my mum and I didn't get to do what we planned to do. Months ago in a horse and rider magazine I saw an advert for Cavendish Horses at Bolsover Castle, when I saw it I said I wanted to go but I forgot about it until today. My mum agreed that she'd take me and we got there for them to tell us that they had sold out of tickets for the day, but we could still go look at the castle if we wanted to. I said no thanks because old buildings don't interest me. So instead we went to Mcdonalds to get something to eat as neither of us had anything all day and when we had done there we went to go to Chatsworth house with the intention that we would see all the deer out grazing but when we got there they were across the other side of the river and couldn't be seen anywhere. So mum surprised me by taking me to the Horse and Carriage Museum in Darley Dale, we got there one minute after they had closed. So instead I spent time taking pictures of the horses out in the field. It ...

Art Related Post

As I write this I am sitting in my Art lesson, with nothing to do, although this probably won’t get posted until this evening, as the internet single in the art conservatory is rubbish. We haven’t got a lesson today because it is the year 11 art exam day one of two, so we get put in the conservatory where we have to sit in silence and work, which is okay but pretty annoying to be honest as the conservatory gets overly hot and there’s hardly ever any room because not only are year 13 (my year) in here as a scheduled lesson, but there’s also year 12’s that have come in during there frees to get some work done. As I got here a bit late, I’m not able to go in and get any paper so I can’t paint and as I can’t get on the internet so I also can’t do an artist study which was my original plan. Okay Rant over! A while ago I said that I would post an ‘art related’ post that was tips that my art teacher gave me on how to make my horses look more realistic. The first thing t...

christmas wishes,

well its getting towards being Christmas, has anyone else got a list of things that they want? Because other than money I honestly don't think that there is anything else that I want. I have been looking at camera's though and have taken quite a nice liking to a Nikon camera, i don't know if any of you have seen the Nikon 1 advertised on television but I think that it is something I am going to keep my eye on. I don't want it for Christmas, but it is something that I might think about investing in at some point.  So far this week there has been nothing horse related other than watching different programmes on tv that might show a quick glimpse of a horse but that has been it. Oh and reading my horse magazines, I swear I could spend all day reading horse magazines I love them and I love all the celebrity top riders advice that you get to. For example one of the olympic riders suggested putting white tape on the reins where your hands should be. He suggested this to ...

Sundays are meant for relaxing

So that's what I have spent the day doing, I have read two of my new horse magazines so that later in the week I can do posts about things that I have read in each of the magazine, I have also spent time playing a game on facebook that I really enjoy doing, it's one of those mindless things that you can just tend to do without thinking about doing it.  I text J-L's mum to see how she was doing today and they let her home just after lunch time, she's aching and pretty badly bruised but has her told her mum that she wants to ride on Saturday, so hopefully I will get to see her then though I would Imagine that she is quite nervous about it, but I'm going to chat to her on facebook later I think, to be honest I am just glad that she hasn't broken anything when she fell because I know how painful and how much of a confidence knock that it can be.  I also have a few more pictures of me and Gatsby yesterday that I thought I would share with you.  Me and Jai...

music to my ears but is it to our horses - Equine environment Enrichment.

I've always been a music lover, I can't imagine not having music in my life, earlier on in my life I had a very simple taste in music, I was a rock chick plain and simple, anything with a  great drum beat, and guitar solo, as well as that rough singing voice that most male and some female rock stars have. But then about three years ago I became more aware of other styles of music, and started liking dubstep, rap, and dance club music like DJ Sammy but I also started liking chart music more as well! So you can imagine my delight when last winter I found out that I would be riding in a dressage to music competition. It wasn't an easy task and it was a paired competition, but disaster struck the night before, when my partner and me were practicing for the actual thing, and Jane came flying off :/ she hurt her shoulder which in the past year she had shattered and had got a metal plate in! But we kept trying it wasn't our best but we did the best that we could do, even thou...

Confidence.

Today I was reading a section in Horse and Rider magazine to do with a reader's confidence issue, it was in the 'Q&A' (question and answers) section below is what the article said the part in bold is the question in bold and italics is the answer so here goes;  'I was recently bucked off and tramples. I have now developed a fear of horses, although I would love to work in the equine industry, which has been a life-long dream of mine. How can I overcome my fear? '  ' A career with horses can be very rewarding, but it does carry risks and accepting the risk of injury is important as well as well as learning to stay as safe as possible. Understanding why your accident happened and why you horse bucked is important when trying to regain confidence. Bucking can be caused by a variety of things, including pain, excitement, poorly-fitting tack or a rider fault. I'd recommend enrolling on a course such as the BHS Horse Owner's Certificates, Stage E...
