car desensitisation

So as I'm sure that you will all remember I used to walk Magic out all the time on the road. Unfortunately he then got poorly, so we had to stop doing this as at one point he was on box rest with literally no walks. So today for the first time in ages I took advantage of the sunny day and we went on our first 'walk out' of the year. It wasn't long but it was good and it was well behaved. Lynn has quite a long drive way down to the farm, so to get Magic used to traffic again we walked to the top of the drive and then stood for a few minutes.  Both my mum and jack were there to make him feel more comfortable with this and we took it entirely at Magic's pace. Allowing him to look at things but encouraging him to move on and not just stand still and freak out. We stood at the top of the drive for 5-6 minutes and just let him see what was coming and going until he was feeling much calmer and was happy to stand and trim the grass by the pavement!  We then walked ...

65 and 66. Dentist trips, Snow, Gatsby and needing to sleep!

Well this post is going to be two days in one, it might not be the worlds longest, as those of you who have me on facebook will know that I am having quite a few health problems. But I'm trying to just keep going so I'll start with day 65 (which I was half way through writing last night and then ended up deleting it like a complete and utter mong)! As you do.  4th March 2016  Yesterday was a quite day, I wasn't feeling very well and was really tired and I had to go to the dentist which in my mind is never really a good thing but it's one of those things that you have to do so I just get on and do it. I got up at about 11am as recently you'll know that I am not sleeping very well, so I end up sleeping in during the day and just get myself in to a really bad sleeping routine which isn't good for me at all. But the first thing that I did was go and clean out Magic's stable, by the time I had got to the yard it had started to snow and I really wasn'...

48. I need to vent

Okay guys so I need some opinions but I also need to vent, so figured that here was the best place to do it as my facebook is being spied on so I can't really put on it what I want to put on it. But I'm keeping those certain people on there so they can see just how well my little boy is doing instead of constantly putting him down, and if they're reading this well tough. This is the only place I can really put what I am thinking and what I am feeling without being judged by social media, arghh the joys but back to the point.  The small minion with the massive baby!  Monday - As you'll know Magic was doing really well, he went in the school to let a little bit of steam off that evening and my little nephew came up to see him. So he was on his best behaviour. I trust that horse 100% and Brody (with me stood inbetween him and magic) even managed to lead him (holding the very end of the lead rope). I've got pictures that I will show you guys later on. In the sch...

5. Playful ponies and pictures.

Well it is just me again. Magic went out in the field all day today. When I got there this morning I was greeted with my boy saying hello and his head hanging out of the door. I did his foot and gave him some fuss before it was time for him to go out. Now normally magic is really good to go out, but the past twice he walks as if he wants to go out and then stop and just refuses to move. I have no idea why he does this but one thing I do not let him do is win. He's starting to try and push his look now and that is the lastr thing that I want to let him do. I changed his foot again this morning and he was great for that he stood nicely and calmly and just generally chilled out. Tonight I went to bring him in as he is a out all day and then in at night. He let me catch him first time and as soon as he saw or more heard me he came up to me. He's turning in to a very clever horse all though he gets impatient because he knows when he comes in that it is food time. He let me wash hi...

Updates

Well I figured while I was dog sitting what better time to update my blog? For those that have me on Facebook you'll know that I haven't been very well recently, exactly a week ago I was in hospital and on Morphine, unable to eat or drink without throwing up everywhere, with a high temperature and extremely bad stomach cramps. The hospital couldn't tell me what was causing the pain but have told me to take it easy and not do a lot. So for the past week I've pretty much been bed bound or when I do go out not going very far. But I have had my amazing boyfriend looking after me, honestly he's been great, he knows how to deal with me when I'm ill but also knows how to kick my ass in to gear when it needs it, and my mum who has also been amazing, she's had to put up with my bad moods and hasn't even complained. So as I know you read this. Thanks mum! I haven't rode in over a week because I should have had my lesson yesterday but unfortunately I just wasn...

Photographs and Explanations.

Well the blog front is still being quiet because at the moment I haven't got a lot going on to do with horses. After losing my job at the stables due to ill health and working a part time delivery job with my boyfriend to make ends meet I'm back to being at the stables once a week and this week that didn't even happen, due to Fiona's ill health. So I've seen a few people commenting not knowing much about my ill health with my stomach so I thought I'd spend this time sharing with you some photographs taken by my amazing mum and boyfriend and explaining more about my stomach problems.  So for those of you that don't know I have struggled with my stomach on and off since 2006 (when I was in year 7, 11 years old I think). Everyone thought that I was just complaining about having stomach ache because I didn't want to go to school, teachers tried blaming it on 'being bullied' or that I didn't like the lessons. Doctors kept telling me that it w...
