seeing jack tomorrow

well there's no updates on the riding front as I haven't been at my stables since Monday evening but tomorrow I get to see jack and I am buzzing! While it means that I am going to miss my weekly horse  riding lesson I get to see my man and I can't wait for that.  I also thought I'd update you on the fact that I am officially a cripple again for the next two weeks at least I had to go back to A&E last night because my hand was KILLING me! They took it out of a splint and straight away put it in a plaster cast, it'll be in this for the next two weeks and then they will tell me what's going to happen. It'll be re xrayed then they'll either put it in another cast, splint it again or just leave it back to normal but it all depends on what the X-ray tells them when I have it. At the minute I don't know what this means on the horse riding front or what I'll be able to do all I do know is that it's incredibly painful still and I'll be gl...

possible broken hand x3.

hiya guys well it's been a few days and I was planning on updating you all today. Unfortunately I won't be able to go in to as much detail as I want to because I am having problems typing because it looks like for the third time I have broken my hand again!  In the exact same place, how rubbish is that? But they can't tell me because it will not show up for another two weeks on an X-ray so at the minute it's back in a splint and I've got to go back to hospital in two weeks.  Well Saturday I got to ride Gatsby again. We have been working on getting him in to an outline more consistantly but it took me seeing Fiona riding Pumpkin Pie for me to know what it was that I needed to do for Gatsby to work properly in to an outline. We got some really good work in the walk and trot (I have got pictures) and slowly we are starting to get it in the canter as well but by the time we move on to canter I tend to feel quite tired and weak on my left side. We did an exercise th...

Another post from my PlayBook

First of all I would like to say wow at this moment in time I have had 5592 Page views when I first started this blog I never thought that many people would read it. Today has been a fairly relaxed day I didn't think that I was going to be up that early this morning as I wasn't going anywhere. But I was awake nice and early this morning. When I first woke up I spent some time on my PlayBook putting my riding videos on to  YouTube and then uploading them om to here. I did it all on my PlayBook and found it was actually much faster to upload videos on to YouTube than if I had been using my mac. after this I had something to eat and watched a riding programme on the horse and country channel about Tina Cook. I found it quite interesting but also quite inspiring how when she is in the saddle that nothing else that is going on in her life effects her performance. I know that when I am having a bad day I let it effect my riding and that's something that I really want to stop d...

The Makings of a Dressage Horse

Today was my own a pony day with Gatsby at West Hallam Riding Centre, I had such a good day and a real laugh with all the people that were there. There was four of us on the own a pony day and Fiona was there but Elaine wasn't there. We started off by mucking the horses out I did Gatsby and Soly's Stable and took all the mess out and then in both of them we were putting them in a new bail of Sawdust (can't think what it is actually called), We did this quite quickly and again I put 10ibs of Haylage in his stable and did a 14ibs haynet of Haylage that was ready for him for tonight and will go in his stable later, Fiona, Jamie-Leigh and I then swept the yard as the other two girls that were there were a lot younger and quite small. We had a break and had something to drink and then went onto fetching the horses in Jaimie-Leigh and Fiona bought in Fussy and Hazel, then I bought in Rosie and Fiona bought in Corrie (I think), while we were doing this Jaimie-Leigh and the girls ...

long day

Today has been another long but fun day, it was today that I was going to be going out with some friends that I've known since I did my first work experience over 3 years ago and S was horse mad and just starting her lessons at parkside. Today we decided to make a day out of it and just have a laugh and have fun and the majority was a real giggle, so I'll get the bad bit out of the way first. We were driving a long the motorway and D was driving and there was a lorry on one side of us and on the other an AA van, and D had to slam his breaks on because this van started to swerve towards us and if D hadn't slimmed his breaks on the van would have drove into the side of us, but in the process their dog Tammy (who sits on the back seat) was slammed into the front passengers seat, the poor little pup. Other than that we had a good day we had a drive around the countryside and then went to this really nice fish and chip restaurant that I love and I love their chicken nuggets and...

A year gone by and time for a new one to begin.

Well all I have seen over the blogosphere recently was 'a year in review and goals for 2013' posts so I thought why not and decided that I might as well do one, but most of you will already know what this year has been like! I am going to do this in a month by month format and will try and add pictures for you all too! JANUARY! Nothing much really happened this month I went back to riding at Broomfield and had a few eventful rides on Arthur, I didn't fall off but we had our fair share of arguements because he decided that he didn't like the top end of the school, it also bought on our fair share of cold winter nights, and many nights on Thomas jumping him and then wrapping him up warm in his Duvet and rugs!  FEBRUARY!   This month was the first month that I got to ride Gatsby, I had seen him one weekend when I had gone up to visit some of the other horses and decided that I really liked the look of him and wanted to ride him, mum asked Steph (who taught me)...

A Lesson From A Horse.

The other Day i was reading a post called 'Because of a horse' on The Equine Experience Blog and thought that it was something that I would do because over the years I have learnt a lot from different horses, and I could probably say that without my riding I would not be the same person that I am now and I thank every single horse that I have rode even those that at times I've hated riding. So here goes these are the things that I have learnt 'Because of a horse'  Because of a horse I've broke more bones than I would have and damaged more ligaments, but the pain has been eased by just being able to groom or stroke these beautiful creatures even when I couldn't ride. Because of a horse, I have more bookmarks than I can count on firefox and the majority of them are to do with anything horse related. Because of a horse, I have improved my balance and to a certain point worked through the pain barrier of my stomach and gone from not being able to do any ...

Thoughts

Well guys I have been sitting for the past hour trying to figure out what I wanted to put in a post because I am loving being able to update you all on the things that are going on in my life, now while the majority of this post is going to be not horse related by the end of it I am sure that I will have snuck something horse related in to this post Okay so to start with today was my mock art exam it was a total of 5 hours long, and I have done two of the hours today and then I am going to be doing the other 3 hours. During the mock we are to see how much work we can get done in 5 hours which is a third of the time that I get in my final exam which is going to be 15 hours, I really have no idea how I am going to manage 15 hours, drawing in complete silence with out my phone or an ipod, that could be interesting but that exam isn't til some time in May. However after my broken hand, in may and two christmas' ago when I draw or type for too long my hand starts to hurt. T...

Exams are OVER!

woop so i am so excited until next year my exams are all over! hehe no more left to do! but textiles was a nightmare, mum managed to get my special circumstances and one of my teachers was trying to be really helpful by suggesting  that i used a laptop to work with as i still can not type! but then my head of sixth form decided that it would be better off that I didn't use a laptop so i was a bit like okay wtf? but the nice lady that was doing the exam decided part way in to it that i needed to use a laptop because  it wouldnt be fair for me not to use a laptop. But on to the horsey side of life I havent done any riding since my accident but I text lauren today to let her know what the hospital have said plus side she did not say that I could not ride but  she didn't say that I could either. But i think mum has already decided that I won't be riding so instead I am going to go up and spend sometime grooming Gatsby and other ponies because that always makes me feel bette...

going mad!

Today I slept up until 1:30pm after a rather rough nights sleep because of ache's and pains waking me up none stop! Took me forever to fall asleep but then did manage to sleep and mummy decided that it was best that I stayed asleep with having my textiles exam tomorrow, which involves two hours of both writing and drawing and I've got to manage to wash my hair some time tonight. Update for you all on how I am feeling slightly better, but deffo not 100% better. My head is still really hurting but i suppose that is to be expected with having a concussion and have been sick today as well. My hand is really saw and aching and feels exactly like it does when I broke it last time. Mum emailed my school teacher (head of sixth form) today to say that they might need to sort out special circumstances for my exam, and was expecting that I would get a fine that's what has been done! But Mrs Walton just replied and said that she would have to check whether i was allowed them or not...
