The way to heaven is on horseback

not got much to report guys! I've got two weeks off riding now as the school has shut for christmas but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to be at my stables at some point over the holidays. On saturday I got to ride Vettie, he was the last ride of my year and we had a fairly good ride.  I managed to get some really nice outline work out of him and we've become really consistent in the work that we do in the walk. I also attempted doing some leg yields, while they were no where near perfect I did get some leg crossing so I was really happy with that and the more I did it the easier it was to get Vettie to drop in to an outline. I also got a few nice bits in the trot with him. While my trot work still isn't very consistent it is slowly improving but I do need to work more on keeping my position still and holding my core muscles in place.  Sunday we had my uncle over for the family meal, it was nice but at the same time weird because it was the first chris...

It's strange to think that today it's my nans birthday and that she's not here. I finished at Uni early today so planned to just go home and go back to sleep! What I didn't know was both my uncles, my sister and my nephew were going to be at my house and that they were all taking flowers to the church (forgot to mention mum and dad but they're always around! :P). So I went with my family to take flowers to the church for my nan. It's still weird that she's not around nagging me to keep my fringe out my eyes and stop straightening my hair 'cause I do prefer your natural hair'. Or asking about my riding because my nan was also really into horses. After that Martin (one of my mums oldest friends (I think, am I right mum?)) came around to our house for a bit to, so the house was fairly busy but the best bit was the fact that I got to have lots of cuddle times with my little man again! Ok its time to actually write a decent length post, while I have not been posting the past few days I have been reading everyone's blogs and would like to say that my thoughts are with L over at Viva Carlos during this tough time that she is going through.   On Friday it was ny nans funeral, while it was a sad occasion I loved being able to see everyone, including my irish cousins that went home today. We went to the crematorium for 3:08pm and emotions were running high. But I had my best friend there to support me and I really appreciated it. We then went back to Horsley lodge for the wake. It was so long afternoon but we had some really nice chats with different people that we would not see very often. Today was a long day my mum and I were up and out of the house  by 7am we arrived in Stoke qt just before 8 and the mechanic said that he was surprised how early we were but He was the one to tell my dad that we needed to be there as early as possible so we were. The first thing that he did was pop the bonnet up and try and open the water part well it bubbled over like mad none of us expected that. He told us that we were going to be there for a minimum of two to three hours so we might as well go up to the shopping part. He told us it was a quick 5 minute walk up a not to steep hill! Wrong! The hill was really steep so we did it in two parts we stopped at the bus station to sit for a but and then get a drink. Then we walked another 10 minutes to go to McDonalds were we had pancakes and sausage breakfast then we had to wait. It was cold and raining so we waited in McDonalds. Eventually we got a phone call to tell us that my car would have time stay over night because it needs a ne...

Today hasn't been a long day but things tend to feel really surreal at the moment. I went to get my dress this morning and it now fits perfectly. So I have my prom dress sorted. I them went straight to school. My first lesson was textiles theory, the first half of the lessons I spent working on a past paper and the second half I saw the fashion show photos from last night. I thought insight regret not doing it but I am sure that it was the right thing to do. In my textiles I felt like I learned quote a lot and I am starting to feel more prepared for the exams that are coming up. It was then lunch time and i was supposed to do some work, then I would go to my English lessons, however much english lessons was cancelled because of moderation. So my mum came to pick me up and we went for my driving practice. I did the route that I normally do but this time I did it backwards now my mum was going to let me do the simpler route but I decided I didn't want to the only down side t...

Today's post isn't going to be very long. Feelings in the house are weird and it has a peculiar atmosphere to it at the minute. After I posted last night I headed to bed for an early night. It was one of the best nights sleep that I've had in a while However at about 8:30 this morning my mum woke me up to tell me that my nan was no longer in pain because she had gone now. No one really said anything all morning it was filled with everyone trying to keep themselves busy. At around lunchtime my mum took me out for my drive in my car. It involved lots of hills but also lots of traffic because today is a bank holiday. It got me used to working through the gears as well as stopping and starting.  My mums ordered me a chocolate brown dress for my nans funeral as I don't have any formal clothing and chocolate brown or tan and black were my nans favourite colours. I didn't wake up today until jst before I had got my lesson with Gatsby recently I haven't been sleeping well so I asked my mum if I slept in to wake me up as late as possible. I drove to west hallam riding centre without stalling which was great. It started off well then I got to spend time riding Gatsby and he was so sweet because he doesnt like things near his face however he let me put my poorly early against his cheek and for a while we just stood there as it was making the pain feel less he was blocking the cold. as silly as it sounds it was like he knew my ear was hurting me.  When we got on it felt so good to be back in the saddle after having a week off. You could tell that I had had a week off. Today has been another long day but I am ending it with my best, mate so that is making me feel better. When I woke up this morning I couldn't feel all down the side of my face that I've got the ear infections on and when I tried to lie on that side of my face it made me really hurt. So my doctor extended the amount of time that I will need to need be on antibiotics and the ear drops.  Then my mum took me to get another new folder so that I now have a folder for my English revision as well as my textiles revision. I also got to refill note pads so that when I'm making notes I can take the Page out of the pad and put it in my folder so that I know everything is together. As I tend to lose sheets and things like that. Then I decided to do some more revision for both my textiles and English classes. I really want to get the best grades that I can so that I can still go to university this October to do my photography course. I'm really trying hard to do the things that...

Today has been another long day, because we had a night sitter I said I would have the dog because Angel is very over protective and will bark continually til the person has left the house. She kept me nice and warm but cause she new my mum was up every couple of hours she decided she would wake me up. But I was happy cause my mum made it through the night without waking me up. Today I didn't go to school until this afternoon because I had got frees so ll I had was English and textiles this afternoon. So my mum and I went for a drive and it was the first time that I drove without stalling I was buzzing about it. I am really starting to get used to my car and the gears and it is a super fun little car to drive. Then in school we were just revising for my final exams in both my subjects. I have to admit that I am really nervous about the exams as there is a lot riding on the results that I get from these exams. English was okay but my teacher came to the lesson half an hour late...

Yesterday was a long day where everyone was running on high emotions not only was in on edge because of the things going on with my Nan but I also had to go and see the doctor for myself. Some how I have managed to get two ear infections in one ear and an ear infection building up in my other ear now I am prone to early infections so I wasn't really worried to start with however as it kept getting more painful and uncomfy i decided that it was time to go and see my doctor so I have got to have antibiotics as well as ear drops. This morning I drove to school and was buzzing about the fact that I drove without stalling. The school day was a long and fairly boring day I handed in two essays and got given another one to do. Today has been a really long and tiring day with its fair share of arguments. When I woke up this morning I knew that I wasn't going to be at school because I had two essays that needed writing foe English. The down side of a weekend away is the fact that when I come back I have so much work to catch up on. It took me all day today write my essays. This morning my sister came around and it was sods law that my nan decided that it was today that she wanted to sleep in. So my sister asked if she could come back this evening my mum said yes. Well tonight my sister let everyone see how much she is not dealing with about my nan being ill. As she lost her temper one minute she was crying the next she was angry. To be honest I don't think that she nows how she is feeling.  At the same time as she did last night my nan decided that she wanted to start getting out of bed and that she needed to go home (which is exactly where she is). Well today's post may end up as a bit of a rant about art. So nothing to do with horses will be in this post. so if you don't want to read it I completely understand that.  Today it has been confirmed that I am no longer doing my art a level course. Unfortunately the issue has not been able to he resolved and to carry on doing the course would stress me out to much and in turn would cause me to be ill. I can't go in to the situation completely because it is being looked into by my school so until that is done I am not really able to talk about it. While I agree that dropping my art is for the best it annoys me that I've spent a year working damn hard on an A Level that with 3 weeks til the end I am not going to be able to finish. It's basically letting my art teacher win but I'm just too tired to keep fighting with him.  This afternoon my sister came over for tea. Chilled out day today. I got a lie in this morning as we were not doing the shopping until after the doctor had been. we thought he would be coming in at lunch time but he didn't come til around 1:30 which was fairly late for him. He didn't want to change any of the tablets that he has put her on as he didn't think that she had given them long enough for them to start working on her. Basically the problem is that her heart is failing. Nan's being having morphine as a relaxant and to help her breathing and she was working herself up about it because it is an addictive drug. But she has been told that the small dose and not frequent use of morphine isn't going to do anything to her other than make her feel better.  After this we had to do the shopping in less than an hour as my brother had git a hair dressing appointment. The supermarket was packed with old people and people that just wanted to stand in the way and then when asked to move got grumpy which was ann...

First of all I would like to say wow at this moment in time I have had 5592 Page views when I first started this blog I never thought that many people would read it. Today has been a fairly relaxed day I didn't think that I was going to be up that early this morning as I wasn't going anywhere. But I was awake nice and early this morning. When I first woke up I spent some time on my PlayBook putting my riding videos on to  YouTube and then uploading them om to here. I did it all on my PlayBook and found it was actually much faster to upload videos on to YouTube than if I had been using my mac. after this I had something to eat and watched a riding programme on the horse and country channel about Tina Cook. I found it quite interesting but also quite inspiring how when she is in the saddle that nothing else that is going on in her life effects her performance. Today was the day that my Nan was going to hospital, we managed to get her to the hospital by using the ambulance people that fetch you and bring you back, on the way there they had enough room for my Uncle to go with her as an 'escort' which everyone agreed that she really needed, however on the way back they didn't think that they would have room. When they got there she went to have a chest x-ray first, and then she was going to the fractures clinic the first part was relatively easy, the second part not so much! Turns out when she was in hospital over a month ago the ward decided to cancel the appointment and didn't tell anyone! So my Uncle and Nan stood their ground and insisted that they she was to be seen today! So while they had to stand and wait they did get seen. I'm not sure whether she had it re x-rayed but she has had the cast taken off. Both my mum and I were surprised that they didn't give her a splint to support the hand whilst it is getting str...

Today I spent the day at home, I've not been sleeping very well recently so when I didn't get up early my mum let me sleep in for a bit. When I did get up I went to keep my Nan company for a while and wait with her until the Doctor came. When he came he told us that until next week at the earliest there is nothing that he can do because he couldn't even get a reading on her blood pressure, and her pulse was very weak to. Tomorrow my Nan's going to get her cast taken off so that should help her to do more things and while she is there she is going to be getting a chest X-Ray. So that our Doctor can figure out what he can to do to help her. But at the minute it doesn't look like there is a lot that he can do for her.  For a while I have been looking at Kindles and I've always liked the idea of a Kindle and my dad's got one. Today I went out with Dean and Sue, when I first met them I was working at a stables and used to lead Sue when she was having a lesson and we just got on really well, which was awesome and we have kept in contact ever since. Today we went out to look at some art things at the range, as well as things for the Garden and the house, and then went to this really nice fish and chip shop, it is lush! Then we went up through chatsworth to see the baby deer but they weren't out today, so we pulled up in a lay by and just sat and had a chat for a few hours. It was really fun and gave me a break from doing work. I always enjoy going out with them and because I've got two weeks off we're going to go out and do something next week as well.  Unfortunately I won't be having any Gatsby time tomorrow. Happy Easter Everyone!  Last night the clocks went forward so we lost an hour of sleep, I kept looking at my watch this morning (I wear it 24/7) and it told me it was earlier than it was, so I just kept going back to sleep and then remembered that the clocks had changed. When I got up I did a bit of reading and then my uncle and his partner were coming round to visit my nan so I sat with them for a while.  I know that I have got a lot of art work that I need to get done over the next two weeks (6 sheets), so I decided that I was going to do some today and I was going to start of with working on Idea's and then tomorrow I am going to do an artist study. Today I did 6 Ideas and then mounted them so that was one sheet down, the ideas were based around a silhouette of a person but inside the silhouette's sunsets and trees. Today was my big sisters birthday, so it meant that she came over for tea in the evening, this also meant that I got to see my favourite little fella in the entire world! I Love my little nephew, I say little but he is growing really quickly at the moment. This morning I didn't have an art lesson, so washed my hair and dried it but left the majority of it looking natural, I planned to straighten it later (but I never got round to it), then I went in for textiles and English. Now for some reason I thought my laptop was fully charged so wasn't too happy to walk in to Textiles and turn my laptop on to find that it was on reserve power, so I couldn't do the work that I planned to do but then in English I got loads done. Well I haven't done a lot today other than helping my mum to do some jobs and helping to look after my Nan, who has now decided that she wants someone sitting with her 24/7, so this could be a very interesting weekend.  Last night it started to snow but during the course of the day all the roads cleared and it was just sleet it wasn't properly snowing, so I was really excited that I was going to be riding tomorrow, but as the evening went on the sleet turned to snow and the snow flakes got bigger and bigger and bigger. They were settling everywhere, I live in the countryside and all the roads around where I lived were just turning white! I'm really glad that we don't live in a country that has snow all year round! I'd hate that!
