Thank you

First of all I want to say thank you for everyone's comments on my last past, you're support has been appreciated and I just want to say a HUGE thank you.  Today was a more relaxed day, I've not heard how Evie is but seen as she went out earlier I'm going to assume that she is getting there. My bruises are coming out really quickly and you can tell that they are going to be really dark. I'm also insanely tired.  So  Until Next Time  A Girl With A Dream

Car Accident

First off i want to say sorry to you all for not updating recently but unfortunately there has been a lot going on over the past week.  Tuesday evening I hit a patch of black ice while I was driving my car, the car hit the curb and during that process i managed to damage my shoulder. Then last night things got even worse. Evie and I had gone to see one of our mates. We left his house and were heading home. The A38 was closed so we had gone along the back roads. We were coming up to what was quite a nasty corner, going in to the corner Evie lost control of the car. The car spun, hit a wall and a tree, then spun again in to the middle of the road.  We could both smell burning so my main priority was to get us both out the car we both got out of the car and away from it before falling to the floor and getting really upset. It was obvious that her car was going to be a write off (not sure if i spelt that right). Half of the engine was in the tree and the other half was still attac

Riding Vettie - 23/11/13

Today has been a good day for my riding. I was riding Vettie today and after the two good lessons I had had last weekend I was feeling a lot more confident about my riding. I knew that I wanted to work on my position mainly my legs as my right legs heel comes up.    I spent a while warming up making sure that Vettie was nice and loose. I also wanted to make sure that I had got an energetic walk so that when I wanted to pick up the contact it would be easier to do. When I started picking up the contact I was surprised that Vettie was listening incredibly well to me and I was able to drop him in to an outline. Two weeks ago I had been struggling with getting Vettie in to an outline but this week I could do it. Once I'd got the outline more consistent in the walk I moved up to the trot.  In the trot I had to find the right balance between being firm and half halting him and keeping the energy flowing. It was important that I kept my position very tight and didn't tip

two teeth pulled out

Today has been a long day, as I had two of my teeth pulled out and was sedated for it. So I'm not going to write a long post today I'll fill you all in on what you've been missing tomorrow. Until Next Time A Girl With A Dream

Jumping Gatsby 18/11/13

So today I had my half an hour private lesson on Gatsby. Fiona said that I could do some jumping with him and I was really excited. It's been a long time since I've put jumping and enjoyment in the same place. It was nice that it was only half an hour because it meant that I don't get tired easily. We started off doing lots of walk, trot transitions and keeping a nice rhythm.  I then put my stirrups up and did some work going over the poles. When we started jumping we started off with a reasonable sized cross. Gatsby and I had a really nice rhythm so we quickly moved it up to a straight across. We were starting coming up to the jump in trot but Gatsby got excitable and we ended up going over it in canter once two. Fiona said I looked more confident and a lot stronger in my position which was really nice to here. We went over the jump a couple more times all though this time we trotted up to the jump, went over it then cantered up to the long side. Then before we went up

Back on Gatsby

Today has been a really good day. I absolutely loved my ride. It's been a quite a while since I've done any canter work and today after watching one of the other girls lessons I felt the need to do some canter work.  I was back on Gatsby which I really enjoyed. I was looking forward to my ride but at the start I wasn't 100% sure how it was going to go. We spent the first part of the lesson working on the outline. I found that he was dropping a lot easier in to an outline but I think that I was over thinking it a bit to much. I didn't get it 100% but I was happy with where we left it off. I found that he was really locking his neck in place so I was having to be really firm with him to get him to flex.  When we moved on to the canter work Fiona asked me if I was feeling nervous which I said that honestly yes I was. I think in my mind I thought because I hadn't done any canter work in a while I would still be cantering how I used to be which wasn't great

Lots of pics!

Some photographs taken with my new lens now all I need to do is water mark them and put them on my business facebook page and my website. Until Next Time A Girl With A Dream

Old Friends

The past few days have been really good, I've got to spend time with two of my oldest and closest friends. Jack used to live in Devon but has recently come back to derby. So since he's been back I've taken the opportunity to catch up with him. We've had a really good laugh and I have joined spending time with him. We also met up with some of our other older mates which is cool. Tomorrow I have to go for a Doctors appointment. I'm also trying these new fat buyer tablets, they are called Raspberry Ketone tablets and are supposed to boost your metabolism. They also act in a way that stops you feeling hungry. I've only been on them for a day but I think they might possibly work.  Until Next Time  A Girl With A Dream

Lesson on Vettie 9/11/13

Yesterday I had a ride on Vettie. It went so much better than last week. I was still having major difficulties with my legs but I was able to move more with my seat and move up in to trot which felt amazing. He's got such a big trot that I find it really hard to stay still in my position but I know that slowly but surely I will get there and I'll be able to ride how I want to. We carried on working on keeping my seat swinging and keeping Vettie forwards. The whole time I was also trying to get/keep Vettie in an outline, I struggled with this because my core muscles weren't really working and also because I struggle to keep my hands still (something I need to work on more). I also need to remember that the key to getting Vettie working well is lots of circles and serpentines basically things that keep his mind working.  At the end of the lesson I came on to a circle and got some really nice work which proved to me that I Can ride him. I think what I need to remember

Fireworks, horses and a new lens.

Todays been a really good day for me, I was doubting my riding ability after the lesson that I had last week but I feel more confident that I can ride and I do know what I'm doing. I'm not going to go in to detail about my lesson in this post for two reasons one) I've not put the photo's on my camera two) I'm really tired at the minute.  This evening we had bonfire night in Duffield which I got free entry in to because I was marshalling for it which was really good. In another new's I've also get a new camera lens but I'm going to leave you all in suspicion as to what lens it is! So stay tuned.  Until Next Time  A Girl With A Dream

First time helping out at a University photoshoot (and acting like a big kid).

Just a quick post from me. Today has been a long day but in some aspects has also been really productive. This morning I helped my mum do the food shopping and then I watched T.V. for a bit before it was time to head in to University. I'd agreed with Charmaine that I would help her with her photoshoot and this is also meant that we got some pretty funny photographs!  This was far too much fun!  This evening I watched some more T.V. then went to my local youth group, it started off going really well and we had a good laugh, Evie and I even spent an hour playing on just dance. It's safe to say between us we hold most of the high scores on it.  But then an incident happened and it just went down hill from there, I'm not going to bore you with the details.  What we do when we are waiting for people to turn up, sat like this then we both went 'how you doing' in a really funny way when she walked in! After we had finished at the youth group we then went to

A fun filled Day

Today has been a good productive day for me, I won't lie I woke up feeling awful and really just wanted to roll over and go back to sleep, but when I started University I decided I was going to try harder to control my stomach pains and not let them control me!  Random Picture of my sister and Brody from Tuesday nigh It also helped that I woke up to the surprise that my nephew would be at my house for the day, that means, cuddle time! I went with my mum to pick him up because my sister was feeling really poorly. He soon fell asleep in the car and only woke up because we had to move him from the car into the house. After he'd woken up he was soon happy to play with the Duplo/lego blocks and of course, cars, his favourite thing.  About 11:30 I had to leave to go in to Uni for an hour to have a group work check. We basically had to present our ideas to the group that we were put in. We then got feed back off the group and also feedback off Carl (lecturer/teacher). I

Fireworks and website designs

Okay, I've got some serious catching up to do. I haven't been feeling 100% so I haven't been posting everyday of got the work done that I need to get done and then it's been time for me to sleep. This week I'm off self study time and back in my usual university routine. Today and yesterday I've spent some time with Charmaine in the darkrooms and we've got quite a bit of work done (I wrote a list and printed all the images on the list that I wanted to print). Yesterday was our annual family bonfire night we also gave Brody his presents as it was his second birthday on Saturday, doesn't time fly by! Then we had the fireworks, I always think that they are really pretty but my favourite part has to be the sparklers!  I love both of these photographs, I tried photographing fireworks last year and it didn't really work but this year it went a lot better and I am really happy with the outcome.  I've spent the majority of today just chill

Ride on Vettie - 2nd November 2013

Today I rode Vettie again it started off well in the fact that I was able to get him to stretch down but I knew from the start that it wasn't going to be the best ride and it wasn't. Yesterday my hip started hurting and today it proved to be a problem but a problem that could be fixed. For edges Vettie looked like a giraffe I just couldn't get him in to an outline and because of how my hip was I didn't do any trot work. Yep that's right I did an hour's lesson in walk.  It got to the point where I was getting mad at myself and then because I was getting frustrated I started crying for no reason. So Fiona suggested that I rode as if I had no legs, meaning that I had to use my seat 100%. The minute I Started doing this an outline started appearing, I was amazed by how well I was able to get him moving by just using my seat. My hip hurt a lot after but it was worth it. I could do serpentines, circles and all those types of things without using my legs. I even m

Own A Pony Day - 1st November 2013

This is just a quick post guys as today's been a long day.  I had own a pony day today and we all had a really good time. I got to ride Vettie and I was getting much quicker at being able to adapt to him and also to move with him. We had some lovely trot work and I really enjoyed all the work that I did with him. I was able to trot for longer periods of time than I had been able to before and was really happy with what I got done.  But before that we all picked a stable to muck out and if needed put new bedding in. I picked Gatsby he'd absolutely trashed his stable last night! So I had quite a bit of work todo at this point all the ponies/horses were out. Then little Rocky managed to escape from where he was supposed to be, so Fussy and him got bought in. During this time Hazel was winding up Gatsby and Rascal so they were chasing around the field. So after Elaine had bought Hazel in, I bought Gatsby in and Elaine got Rascal. The next group to bring in were Sam, Pumpki
