Today was the day that I started Riding at West Hallam Riding Centre, and that I was back riding my favourite Boy :') GATSBY, of course who else?

The lesson went really well, my lesson was at 1:00 but I was able to get there for 12:30 to tack Gatsby up and Groom him, for the simple reason that I love Gatsby, so anytime spent with him just cheers me up! When I got there I had a chat with Fiona, while she made mum a cup of tea about what I had been working on whilst I was riding him at Broomfield. Then he got bought in and I got to groom him he was all muddy from  hours of rolling about in the field, what more can a horse ask for? But I did that then tacked him up and was helped to tack him up by Elaine.

When we got on in the school, I spent 10 minutes with Fiona working on getting my seat right making sure that I would be using my seat bones but also that I had got my leg in the right place e.g. having a flat foot because if you push your heels down it puts your leg forward which effectively puts you off balance so that was something that I spent a long time working on, and it was something new that I got to work on! Then we spent a while warming up and getting me used to being on Gatsby again, I was glad to be back on him again, very very glad! We did lots of walk, trot, transitions, making sure that he was warmed in well. Then moved on to doing leg-yeilding as this is something that I would really like to do more of and get to doing better! The first time I tried doing it in rising trot that didnt work to well, so the next time I moved on to sitting trot and it worked a hundred times better I soon got in to the swing of moving my leg off and back on to his side. I found this quite hard and it is something that I plan to work on.

We also worked on keeping him in an outline because when I used to ride him he wanted to keep his head unnaturally height, so Fiona has been working on keeping him in a much more rounded outline with his headed lower and when he stats lifting and shaking his head half halting and then moving him forward so that he doesnt do it

Now on to the pictures

Arthur, Gatsby and new schools

well its taken a while for me to update you all on everything that is going on but the truth is not much has been going on during the holidays and during the first couple of weeks at school but last weekend something horse related finally happened.

I started my lessons back up at broomfield again, and Gatsby wasn't back! Lauren didn't know where he had gone or why. So I got told that the only horse that i could ride was Arthur, who as I'm sure you all know is someone that I don't get on with but I agreed to ride him and the lesson started off as a bit of an arguement because he didnt want to go one way, and i wanted him to but by the end of the lesson we were co-operating. We did some riding with out stirrups, as well as riding with stirrups of course and we were working on getting the correct seat position, which once you had it was great and Arthur was much more willing to move. But i still didn't like riding him!

While i was riding mum and dad were talking to the mum of another daughter that was in the lesson with me and got to find out where Gatsby had gone to, and they told me so after the lesson, we drove to where he was moved to and got to see him :). The next day (Sunday) me and mum went back up to where Gatsby was to ask about having lessons on him up there instead of riding at Broomfield. We found out the prices and also that the person who teaches the lessons (Fiona) was a grand-prix level rider and that afternoon was going to a show with her horse and was hoping to win. We also got to meet Jenny who is Gatsby's owner who seemed really excited that I had managed to find where he had gone and that I wanted to ride him instead of riding at Broomfield. So on monday mum rang Broomfield and was able to get the money back for the course paid and arranged for an hours lesson on Gatsby this Saturday at 1:00pm and also arranged that I would be able to go up and tack him up and groom him before like I used to at Broomfield. So instead of going up for 1:00 i will be going up with my mum and camera for 12:30.

Until Next Time

Wednesday, 12 September 2012
Hey everybody,

I have been meaning to update for the past week if not longer but with going back to school i just haven't got round to it. So i went back to school a week ago today, I am really enjoying it and finding that it is something to keep me busy and help with the weight loss however I have found one problem with it i keep pushing myself to hard to get all my work done, and to get it done in advance leaving me feeling warn out and tired and slightly ill which my mum had said would happen so now i am working on balancing my time but not working too hard.

Also I am back to riding on Saturday the 22nd September so just over too weeks away and i will have lots of pictures for you, taken by my mum and lots of writing for you about what has been happening in each riding lesson and in february/march time you will all be brought along for the journey of me finding my own horse, and the buying processs and after that everything that is to come!

Unfortunately now that i am back at school updates might be slower, but i am going to do my best updating everyone as often as i can do but it might take a while for me to update so please bareworth me until next time

Hi everyone

sorry its been a few days, but tonight is not going to be a long post as I am too tired, but tomorrow I will fill you in on everything that has been going on and I can tell you all now that its not been alot! But y'all will have to wait and see until tomorrow.

I haven't updated the past couple of days as I have found myself truly fascinated by the true blood books which I saw when I was on a trip to manchester with my mum.  But ill tell you more about them tomorrow I can just say boy are they good books.  There's nine and in two day's I am now on to the second one,  anyone thinking nine books in nine days? Will be like the fifty shades of grey books, i read all three of them in three days they were just that good!

But more about that tomorrow
