MAGIC FINALLY GOT IT

Hi everyone,

Well I have got an hour until I've got to go out again, to go walk the dogs, and then go help a friend out, but I just have to blog this now! I am way to excited to wait to blog this. MAGIC FINALLY GOT IT. Okay your probably going to think what the hell is she on about? Well for those of you that have been reading my blog you will know that I've started bring magic in to work and I'd started teaching him for lunge. For ages I'd been trying to get him to lunge and he'd do about two strides and then it would just all go wrong, well not today, my baby horse finally got it! It was like a light just clicked in his head and the next thing I knew he was listening to voice cues, and was walking and trotting on cue on a lunge line. I was completely and utterly amazed, I was so proud of my amazing, gorgeous baby horse. We did this for five minutes on the right rein, but we then went to go on to the left rein and it didn't work out.

For some reason we both really struggle on the left rein, and magic really knows that he can get away with this, as when i've been poorly, i have, wrongly so, let him. So today I really got after him and made him go to the left, I had my mum and Lynn's help. I still didn't quite get it right BUT Lynn had a go and while it wasn't perfect we managed to get two circles of him going to the left. I don't care if it's not perfect every time. I don't care if we struggle and aren't able to do it, what I do care about is that he tries and I try and that together we slowly get there. We might have bad days and we might have good days but the most important part is that we have fun together. So from now on we're really going to work at it. Today I saw the light at the end of the tunnel that I knew eventually would come but that I had been waiting to come for so long. I finally got to see those movements that I saw as a baby when he was a field, when I asked him for them.

Magic is such a good little horse that tries his heart out to do everything that I ask him to do. After having such a rubbish week this was the light that I needed to realise that things were finally getting better. I've had a nightmare situation with my neighbours but I'll put that in another post as I REFUSE to bring my mood down for anyone. Tomorrow we will try again and maybe it won't be as good a day as today but one thing I do know? With time and patients we will both get there and right now that is all that matters to me.

So on that note I'm heading off and going to spend some time catching up with all your blogs.

Until Next Time

CON ARTIST - NICKI WILLIAMS - BEWARE

Okay so this post has taken me a while to post for several reasons but the main one being just how angry this woman has made me.  For those of you that have been following my blog for a long while you will know that back around October of 2016, I was introduced to a woman called Nicki Williams, she was a friend of a friend that was supposed to be opening a centre for rehoming and rescuing animals, but also for horses working with soldiers that has PTSD. We hit it off straight away and came what I thought to be good friends. However warning bells should have probably rang sooner. By January or February of last year the horses that I had agreed to look after (that she had got on loan) Bella and Arthur, she was being threatened that she would have them taken off her by the control of horses act, because she hadn't been paying the rent for the field. Although Nicki reassured me that she had done, she even showed my 'payments' that had been made to Angie. I ended up getti...

Magic's 2nd day in his new home

It has been a while since I have posted on here but I thought it was the perfect time to restart the blog. So to start with I'll give you all an update on what's been going on over the years since I've posted and then I will be back to regularly posting and keeping you all updated on the world of magic.  The first big change who I need to introduce is Jaxon, Jaxon is mine and Jack's 7 month old baby, he was born on the 7th July 2020. Part of this blog will be dedicated to overcoming the challenges of having a small child and owning a horse, even when everyone told me it was impossible to do. Jax has a best friend Bailey who is mums new 1 year old puppy and he has the best time trying to play with her.  Of course Magic is one of Jaxon's best friends.  Now for an update on Magic, he is doing really well, I can't remember if I ever told you, but he moved yards last year when I was pregnant with little man. Unfortunately this yard just didn't quite ...

Olympics - good bad or both?

In the Beijing Olympics in 2008 the horses used in the pentathlon were said to cause farcical scenes with fall after fall after fall. This was said to be the fault of the horses that were either hired or loaned to the competitors. It was not blamed to be rider error or a combination of both rider error and horse error, it was labelled as being the horses fault or this is what it said in ' Horse and Hound Magazine'. This horse was said to have been to spooky and sharp, but is it not a combination of rider's aids and rider error AS WELL as the horse being spooky. Can we really just blame it on the horse, when we are the ones that tell the horse what to do, by no means am i saying it was 'just the riders fault' couldn't it have been a combination of both?.    For the London 2012 Olympics it was said that a total of two years if no longer was spent attempting to find the right horse for the right competitor. They made sure that the horse was at the right l...
