The way to heaven is on horseback

Today my mum, Jack and I went to see Magic. It's a long drive so I only get to go every now and then, sort of once a week. He's growing loads, I am amazed by how quickly he's growing to be honest, I think he's going to be a big boy once he gets older. He's also really curious, every time I go and see him he's more and more interested in what I am doing and what I've got with me and it's just so much fun to watch him. The first time that I went to see him he wouldn't come anywhere near me, the next time he let me touch his nose, the time after that he let me stroke his back but then he would run away after. But today I decided to go with a different strategy, the weather was quite hot, so I chilled in the field, I just went there and switched between lying down in the field and sitting there, and that caught Magic's interest, he wanted to know what I was doing. Hiya guys,  Saturday I got back on Gatsby. It was the first time that I had rode him since I fell off so even though it was Gatsby I was feeling nervous. Oh and to make matters worse Gatsby's owner Jenny was there and was watching, while I never mind her being there I was starting to feel really nervous that I had to ride Gatsby well to impress her. I know mad logic right?  We decided that we were going to do some work without Stirrups as Fiona said that we wouldn't be doing any jumping and while I was kind of gutted I was also relieved to have some time away form that and focus on what I know I CAN do well. For ages you've all heard me say I wouldn't do canter without stirrups, well I've got over that mind block and now really enjoy cantering without stirrups all though the transitions down are bouncy as hell. Hey guys,  Todays post is going to seem completely random and out of the blue but it was something that I felt I just HAD to blog about. Early today I was looking at my friends riding pictures on facebook and was in complete and utter shock to see that she had several photos of her riding her horse including jumping her horse without a helmet on. Now you might wonder why I felt so strongly about this, but this is a horse that has been known to take off with her, throw her off, rear up and bolt, and she's put she's doing it because the horse is 'safe as houses' but how can a horse that rears and bolts be 'safe as houses'? It's just not possible and so stupid that she thinks that she can say that. I would never think of getting on Gatsby without my riding Helmet on because who knows what can happen? Horses are unpredictable animals that have a brain of their own and can do what they want. But what do you guys think?  I can't wait til Friday, for t...
