When the weather is too hot so you just call it quits!

Well things are quite on the horse front, as normal the horses had the weekend off meaning that I also got to have the weekend off. Then today I was planning doing more work with Magic, I was going to lunge him with his saddle on again however when I woke up it was TOO HOT! The weather was registering at between 26 and 30 degrees, now I'm a human and I don't have a fur coat and I was struggling to even walk around. So I decided that the weather conditions were to hot for him and something that he couldn't deal with. So he has had the day off in his stable. Tomorrow I'll probably do a bit of walking with him and maybe give him a bath but it will all depend on what the weather is doing! Until Next Time Amber Rose, Magic, Casper and Diesel

Christmas Presents '14.

So Christmas is now over for another year, but I decided that I would let all my amazing followers see what I got for Christmas this year. There are other things that I haven't put on here that I've not got around to photographing yet like my wicked necklace off Jacks family :) it's a locket with three charms in it, a unicorns head, a pegasus and a glittery heart. I also got money that will be going towards my horse fund, slowly but surely I will get there!  The biggest surprise for me this christmas was my new lights to use with my photography. I hadn't been expecting them at all, they came with two umbrellas. One is a silver reflective umbrella, this gives more focused areas of lighting and the other is a white umbrella, that gives a broader area of light which is much softer.  Quick Selfie taken using my new lights and my phone, not to bad if I do say so myself, this used the reflective umbrella in front of me (face on) and the see through white umbrella by...

The list Part 1

Well I was reading a really interesting post that can be found  here on Equestrian Journey's Blog  and thought that I might have to copy the idea of the list, as with only being at my stables two days a week while I'm at Uni there isn't an awful lot horse related going on. There is 214 things on this list and first i'm going to put the things that I have already done!  2. Canter straight between two poles set parallel on the ground, make them as narrow as you can. This is something that I have done with Gatsby and other horses, I did this recently with Gatsby to work on my straightness when jumping and making sure we would get the right stride in canter before putting the jumps up.  8. Ride in the rain, intentionally. Living in the UK it rains a lot so if I stopped riding just cause it rained I probably would not do that much riding! 10. Try riding in a new saddle. On Gatsby alone I have rode in three different saddles on him, when Riding ...

Driving lessons and cartoon fun

Yesterday at Pony Club we were doing some practice towards our first badge night next week! The first badge that we will be doing is grooming. So yesterday with the sun shining and it being nice hot weather we got the sponges and shampoo out and started working on bathing the horses. Alice and I did Gatsby and first of all we made sure to brush him all over especially his tale which was particularly knotty. When we had done we started putting the horses to bed, making sure to put the hay nets u and top the water up. It was then time to go home but mum was running late so Fiona let me get Tabby out (one of the new kittens) so I got lots of cuddles with them. They are so cute and I love them, I'm looking forward to afternoons at the stables and cuddles with the kittens. This morning I had got my third driving lesson with my new driving teacher. We decided that we were going to work on doing emergency stops. We talked about how it was important not to stall when doing the emergency...
