The way to heaven is on horseback

Yesterday was a quiet day for Magic and myself, I wasn't feeling very well so I spent a quiet day at home and relaxed. We then had to go to the doctors for Jack's appointment to do with his eyes, and I have to say that it wasn't the most helpful of appointments. Before coming home and walking the dogs, then spending the evening in front of the T.V.  Below you will be able to see Magic and Brody working together, as you can tell both horse and small person where equally happy and both extremely excited. There was no harm done and both enjoyed it. Today has been a much more productive day, I had to be up at 8am this morning to go to see the physiotherapist. I was there for about 45 minutes and they came to the conclusion that the muscles from the middle of my back down and my thighs up are quite tight, so are the nerves. They think this is due to the fact that they are quiet weak, so gave me three exercises to do multiple times a day to relax the muscles but also to ...

so yesterday I didn't get around to writing my blog post I was feeling a little bit under the weather so spent the evening curled up with the dogs, watching Heartland on Netflix. However we also had a really good session with Magic yesterday too, my dad and mum did magic's stable to save me some time, and I got to giving Magic a brush and taking his rugs off. After this I put Magic's Cavesson on again and then gently placed Magic's bridle on. The idea was to do a little bit more work with him as long as he was happy to do it, it's only over the past week that I have started incorporating more work. So if he wasn't happy then we weren't going to do it. However I was amazed when Magic was happy to go in to the school and just got straight to it. We mainly focused on walk work going clockwise to start with but then Magic picked up a trot so we went with it, we spent a few minutes going this way before I asked him to stand again and then bought him back to walk...

Okay so I didn't manage to get a video today but after magic responded so well to his cavesson yesterday on decide to take the plunge and give it another go today. I went up to the stables and magic was already in. So I tied him up outside while I got to work on his stable, it wasnt as bad as normal today but it was still pretty trashed. I then got his grooming kit and got to doing a bit of grooming magic was being good and calm. He seemed to have a sensible head on him which is great.  I then put his cavesson on and over the top put his bridle on him. I don't connect the  lunge line to the bridle as at the moment the idea of the bridle being on is just to get him used to the feel of it. I gave him a quick fuss before asking the lady who owns sonny if it would be okay to lunge magic in the bottom of the school while she rode. Hi y'all Well today has been a good day, I didn't get the world's best nights sleep but I managed to eventually sleep the whole morning away. Jack and I then went to my mums for lunch, every year my uncle and his girlfriend come down for an early Christmas lunch as they never come for christmas. So today was the day, we did the normal pleasantry conversations and talked about not a lot, but while it was good to see them he is also completely and utterly insane. After this we went to see magic moo.  Now my little man is a complete and utter nightmare at keeping his bed clean! Every night without fail he trashes it, and every day I'll think maybe tomorrow will be better but that day hasn't come yet. I put him two huge haynets up, cleaned all his bedding up and made him a nice big fluffy bed. I then sorted his tea ready for when I came in. So today was the second consistent day that Magic has had to do something different, where he's had to learn and he's had to think about what he is doing.  So I'll start with yesterday, yesterday Magic has had Bridle on again and went for his second walk out of the yard in a while. We did not walk far out just to the top of the drive and back, we then stood around and waited for a little while. Magic was super nervous due to the fact that he has never seen cows before. However he stood there nicely for a while and got used to the cows and I waited until he had settled down before bringing him back on to the yard. He then had to stand in the stable next to his (with his Bridle on) while he was wandering around, and at the same time I played Cow noises that I found on youtube (my mum's idea) to desensitise him to the sound so that next time it might be a little bit less scary.  Below are some pictures from yesterday. well things have been super busy here, Casper hasn't been very well, Magic's been lame and I've been ill. Jack had a job then lost his job, then I've been working on my own business creating personalised products so first things first. Magic.  Magic is doing really, we are doing lots of work on him picking his feet up, he is fine with his front ones but his back ones he's still a bit off with. He's been lame in his front foot as well the opposite one to that he has an abscess in, then this time he had a 3 inch splinter in his frog, that wasn't visible to the human eye. This had developed an abscess that the farrier burst, but for over a week after he was still lame, so been poulticing his foot, keeping him on box rest but I think that ended up doing more damage than good because he freaked out being in on his own so he went back out with the rest of them. I bought him a cheap bridle yesterday for when I am getting him used to the feel.  He's coming ...

This morning was our weekly meeting that we have with our programme leader. I somehow managed to become a student rep for my course, which is good because it's something that I can put on my CV but I don't really know what it's going to mean that I am doing.  In our session we looked at how different colours can effect one colour and how we perceive that colour to be, I hope that makes sense! It confused me so I might not be explaining it well. Then in the afternoon we had two hours to just be able to work on some of our sketch book stuff. It was great because I managed to get two pages done which I wouldn't have managed to get done at home. So tomorrow I need to do two pages in one of my other sketchbooks, not entirely sure which one yet but we will see sooner or later.  At Pony Club we first of all got to see Fiona and Elaine wrestling a sheep. One of the sheep needed their feet trimming so they decided that they would do it at Pony Club, which was a laugh to...

The past few days have been a little bit hectic. On Tuesday at the Bakewell Show Equestrian Day I had seen a black Bridle that had pink padding on the brow band and nose band and diamante on the brow band too. I LOVED it. On the day I was going to buy it, but the man on the stall was in the middle of a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt it so I decided that it didn't matter and I wouldn't get it. The next day I was kicking myself for not getting it, so when I went out with Dean and Sue they said they would take me to the shop to pick one up. Well when we got there we were told that they had no full bridles the only one they had got was pony. On and Off on Thursday Dean, Sue and I looked for another one that was similar and we just couldn't find one, so my mum said that it just wasn't the right time or place and I wasn't meant to have it.
