Happy Birthday Nan

It's strange to think that today it's my nans birthday and that she's not here. I finished at Uni early today so planned to just go home and go back to sleep! What I didn't know was both my uncles, my sister and my nephew were going to be at my house and that they were all taking flowers to the church (forgot to mention mum and dad but they're always around! :P). So I went with my family to take flowers to the church for my nan. It's still weird that she's not around nagging me to keep my fringe out my eyes and stop straightening my hair 'cause I do prefer your natural hair'. Or asking about my riding because my nan was also really into horses. After that Martin (one of my mums oldest friends (I think, am I right mum?)) came around to our house for a bit to, so the house was fairly busy but the best bit was the fact that I got to have lots of cuddle times with my little man again! Yep, having my nephew around is always the highlight of my day. W...

Catch up Part Two

Tuesday I had my second lecture it was based on colour but the interesting thing was it wasn't just how other colours effect each other but it was optical illusions. We had to think about how things like shapes, tones and shadows will effect how colours look. I found it really interesting and I think that I will have to think more about how I use colour in photography but also which colours I chose to use. That afternoon I didn't have any lectures so went out with my mum to get some ideas on how I can make my own masquerade mask and I also bought some things for that, but more on that another time!  Wednesday was a more eventful day again I was only in in the morning but it was a longer session. We were looking at portrait work and drawing ourselves. We got given four sheets of A2 paper, and got told that we had to draw one quarter of our face at a time. The catch was we couldn't look at the other quarters while we were doing it. Each one was an individual drawing. We ...

soft play centre and Module two

Today has been another good but long day, with my student loan now being in my bank account I decided that I would have a McDonald's breakfast because I haven't had one in ages so I got up to do that this morning. Then at lunch time my mum and I were meeting up with my nephew and sister to go to a soft play centre, we had our fair share of fun and running all over the place, it was really good.  This afternoon I had my first lesson on my second module, a module that looks at different styles of art work, this module has more drawing in it than the other one that we have been given so far. Part of me really likes this but I'm also slightly apprehensive about it as well as there is quite a lot of work to do with drawing the human body something that I'm not very good at but we will soon see how it goes.  Until next time  A Girl With A Dream

just a quick post from me and thank you!

I'm feeling really tired so todays post isn't going to be very long! I want to thank everybody for their comments on my previous post about my competition entry, keep your opinions coming and also any constructive opinions (e.g. needing to edit photos) are welcome.  Today I did the last part of my enrolment for the technology hire shop, meaning I can now borrow lenses, tripod's flashes etc. When we had finished doing that I just chilled out for a couple of hours and then it was time to go to Nottingham for Ice Skating. It was so much fun, I ached by the end but I did have a really good time and I am so glad that I did go. I think I'd like to start Ice Skating more often maybe once a month or something like that. It was a great opportunity to build up people's confidence but also to talk to people that you wouldn't normally talk to.  Until Next Time  A Girl With A Dream
