Magic and Jumping fun

So Magic is doing really well, I haven't been up to see him much as unfortunately I am not very well at the moment. This is due to me crashing my car a few weeks ago. So it's fair to say I haven't had a good few weeks. My car was a complete write off. I've seen Magic twice since the accident but he was a little bit more apprehensive of me at the moment due to the fact that I had a splint on my wrist. But I still get videos and photographs of him even when I don't go to see him so that's always nice. I'm just wondering if anyone has any opinions of how to get a head collar on him and when I should do it?  But now on to the riding part of this blog, there will be videos and some photographs to follow later on in the week. yesterday I rode Gatsby. We rode in the school this week instead of the field, but we decided to work on some show jumping and it went really well! We did a baby cross jump and a baby vertical jump. My mum has recently bought me one of t...

STATS AND VIDEOS

Well this post is basically what the title says, going around the blogosphere I've seen these really cool infographics and thought why not try them out for my blog, I quite like the idea of maybe doing a monthly review next year but I am interested in what you guys think. So here's my stats I wasn't sure how to get yearly stats using blogger, so as I'd never done this before I decided to look at my stats since I started my blog in May 2010.  I have also got around to uploading my jumping Videos on to youtube from my jumping lesson not last saturday but the saturday before that it may have taken a while but I have got there in the end, so feel free to let me know what you guys think. They are all quite short clips but they show what we have been working on recently this also accomplishes one of my goals that I set on my blog post called 'The List Part Two'  Above you can see Gatsby and I doing some outline work, this is the first time that we have e...

Jumping Gatsby - 1st December 2014 and Pony Club.

Yesterday I rode Gatsby again, it's getting to the time of year where my monday rides mean it's already going dark when I get on Gatsby so unfortunately I have no video's from my lesson. My dad also came to watch my lesson with Gatsby which was really nice, as he hasn't been in a while although after he told me that he was quite apprehensive watching me jumping Gatsby as compared to last time we have got a lot faster jumping and the whole process is going a lot smoother.  Above you can see a diagram of the jumping that Gatsby and I did, while it was only two jumps and neither of them were that big it was important for me to do as it made me focus more on my striding, turning, getting the correct lead after the jump or if i didn't being able to change the lead and set myself up for the next jumping. We started off by picking the canter up by K (doing walk to canter transitions), I then cantered around past A, turning to jump the jump that is on 'X',...

Picture time Part one

Hiya Guys,  I can't say that I've really done much today other than finding myself sleeping lots. After the past week being quite stressful as well as the few weeks before leading up to the court date it's safe to say I've hit my barrier where all I really want to do is sleep. The problem is though that I am sleeping during the day and then it gets to 11pm roughly and I find myself wide awake and on my laptop looking for something to do that is going to make me feel sleepy. I've tried reading a book and I start to feel really sleepy but then the minute that I turn the light off and put the book down, bang, I'm wide awake again.  As I've not really done a lot I thought that I would take this opportunity to post some pictures up from the last time that I jumped Gatsby (also the first time I fell off him). Most of these pictures were taken by the boyfriend but some were also taken by my amazing mum. So here you go guys. :)  Really do love this pic...

A lesson on my own and the biggest I have ever jumped!

Todays plans had a few changes in them but they were all for the best. As you will know I had a great time jumping Gatsby yesterday but I was knackered by the time I got in bed, I got in bed at 8 and went to sleep within about 5 minutes and slept through until about 10ish. When I got up mum told me that there was going to be a change of plans, instead of getting to the stables for 12:30 I got to the stables for 11:30. Fiona said that she would explain when we got there and when she did explain it made a lot more sense. With only having Gatsby and Rocky that we can use I was going to ride Gatsby early on my own and do some jumping I was all for this. In stead of riding for an hour I rode for 45 minutes but it was more consistent work and I wasn't being as lazy as I tend to be, I was working harder and trying to build my stamina up.  I got Gatsby ready to get on him at 12:15, we started warming him up and making sure that from the beginning he is active. Fiona told me not ...

Now for the writing part.

Today was the derbyshire county show, a show that I've been going to for the last five years (only to watch, maybe one day to compete) the first three years the weather was that hot that I burnt. The last two years all it has done is rain! While I still enjoy going I don't enjoy the weather that we seem to be getting all of the time.  Mum and I left the house at 8:00 this morning, I'd been so excited the night before that I hadn't slept well the night before, I kept waking up thinking that it was the morning and then realising that it wasn't the morning. This year we didn't have to Que. to long before we were able to get parked. In years before we have been queuing for what has seemed to be hours, more like 30 minutes, but still it felt like forever.  When we got there we headed to the show jumping ring, I always love watching this, and I got to spend some time doing some photograph work, I love how the horses look going over the jumps and how excited s...

Day Three of updating my blog :')

Hey y'all I'm managing to update my blog like I promised. With the help of my mum who tells me when I don't double check my spellings, and when things don't make sense! Thank You Mummy. Well today it was the dreaded day of the blood test! I had to have one to check that my liver was working properly, unfortunately I've had 3/4 in the last month so this time it really hurt, and it also hurts more because of how deep the vein is! Trust me to have difficult veins hey?  Secondly I want to thank you all for sticking by and following me when I haven't been able to update as much as I would like to have, but now I plan to keep telling you more, even if it is just about everyday things that go on. Moving on to the better part of my blog, the part that I know you all love the HORSES! After all that is what we all love and are here about! So who's being watching the olympics? For those of you who haven't here's an update!  Today it has been cross ...

As Promised

Hey Guys as I promised an update :)  I'm still missing Gatsby like mad hate not being able to ride and hate not knowing where he is! Hoping my dad will be able to find out where he is some time soon! Well who else has been watching the olympics? It was dressage today that will be continued tomorrow morning, not everyone in my family is a huge riding fan like me, my nan who used to breed horses didn't even watch it! But my dad let me watch two hours of it here and there, and I loved it saw some gorgeous horses. Tomorrow the days kicking off with Zara Philips that will be a must see I think, as she isn't riding the famous Toy Town does anyone know who it is now?  How are all your countries doing? It's more dressage tomorrow followed by cross country in the afternoon I do believer though it could possible be show jumping Well today it's going to seem like I've done a lot but I have had a good day, even though I am aching a lot, it has been good. So this mo...
