The way to heaven is on horseback

Well it was bad enough when it was just me that had got this horrible bug that goes around, it causes sneezing, coughing and an extremely painful throat, but now Jack has got it as well. So for the weekend when it has decided to be really warm we've both been in the flat feeling rubbish, however we managed a few hours in the sun yesterday to do Magic. Then in the evening we took Casper for a walk and then today we managed to do exactly the same.  Magic is coming on really well, he's grown loads and in four days he will be one year old, and it still amazes me as to how quickly the time flies. I plan on getting him a bit and a few other things but unfortunately that is going to have to wait until I have sorted out my financial situation fully. He's finally nearly fully got rid of his dreadlocks look to, he's just got the last few long hairs on his belly to go and then he is going to look like a smart clean horse. well if I have done my maths right then today is the 86th day of the year it's mad to think that it won't be long until it's the 100th day of the year. Time really does fly by without people noticing. Well I figured it's about time that I let everyone in on why I haven't been writing on my blog recently there has been several reasons really. The first one is i have got some news but I didn't want to Jinx myself until I knew if it was true or not. On Tuesday at 12 pm I'll be getting the keys to my own flat.  While Iam really excited I am also kind of super nervous.  I know that it is a big step to be taking but at the moment I just personally feel like it's the right thing to do at the minute. Don't get me wrong I think that I'll have some days where I am going to struggle but believe me when I say that I'm going to try my hardest. Today was a quieter day than I have had recently the first thing that I did when I finally woke up at around lunch time was go and sort magics stable out. I gave him a next big bed and jack filled his Haynet up again like normal. We have our own routine going and by the time that I have done magic's stable then jack has normally finished doing the Haynets. As the original plan for the day was to go and help Josh finish sorting his flat out I'd put Magics food in the stable next to him so that Lynn could just pop his food in this evening, as I tend to have a habit of falling asleep at joshs. It's due to a combination of the tablets that I am on and just the fact that I am not sleeping fully through the night and that I keep waking up then going to sleep again. However that didn't end up happening so instead jack and I ended up chilling in matlock bath for the day. Well I think that I am on the right day of the year but a combination of major tooth ache and just being in quite a lot of pain/sleepy means that my brain really isn't with it today. Okay guys so I need some opinions but I also need to vent, so figured that here was the best place to do it as my facebook is being spied on so I can't really put on it what I want to put on it. But I'm keeping those certain people on there so they can see just how well my little boy is doing instead of constantly putting him down, and if they're reading this well tough. I've finally gotten to the point where I have had enough, of interfering busy bodies. On sunday Magic and I will be making a big but very difficult move am i worried about it? yes. Do I KNOW that I'm making the right decision for both me and him? Yes.  Yesterday I had major problems, I've been doing the join up with Magic and the school and had come to the agreement with Donna who own's the yard that this was acceptable as long as he did not paw the ground, chew on the fences or role. Which I had said that I was fine with. Then yesterday I got an arsey, snobby message of the yard owner in front of everyone on the yard saying that I was in the wrong, and that I should know Magic is to not do this in the school. I explained the situation and got called by another livery rude and then the yard owner denied ever having the conversation with me, making me out to look like a right mug. I'm exhausted so I'm going to warn you now that today has not been such a good day. I had good news from the hospital this afternoon after my tests for Addison disease last week the results have come back clear and they know that is not the problem. However I am now being sent for Mri scans on my bile duct and gallbladder, mainly to see if there are any stones or anything like that but just to rule things out as well. I also explained about my sleep pattern at the minute and they said that they think that I could be getting something called sleep apnea, I've never heard of it before so I'll have to do some research on it in the future but basically by the sounds of it, it is when your airways narrow when your asleep and basically you stop breathing when your asleep. I then wake myself up because I know something isn't right and this is what is causing (possibly anyway) my messed up sleep pattern. Well I'm currently sat in the back of the car on the way to hospital, my mum quickly put Magics food in this morning and now we're on the way to have my test done to see whether I have Addison Disease or not I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to it seen as I hate needles and this whole test is about having needles put in me, to say I'm dreading it is an understatement especially when I have hardly slept all night and I am in quite a bit of pain. However I thought I would use this time to update you all on my experiences of a certain vets in Derbyshire. You'll all know that I had to get another vet out to sort out magic after they came out well on Monday i took in the insurance claim form and asked them to fill it in, while at the same time booking Magic in for l his 2nd set of injections. Well it is just me again. Magic went out in the field all day today. When I got there this morning I was greeted with my boy saying hello and his head hanging out of the door. I did his foot and gave him some fuss before it was time for him to go out. Now normally magic is really good to go out, but the past twice he walks as if he wants to go out and then stop and just refuses to move. I have no idea why he does this but one thing I do not let him do is win. He's starting to try and push his look now and that is the lastr thing that I want to let him do. I changed his foot again this morning and he was great for that he stood nicely and calmly and just generally chilled out. Tonight I went to bring him in as he is a out all day and then in at night. Well guys I felt like it was time to give everyone an update on what's going on with magic. The short and simple of it is my boy decided too give me an extremely expensive Christmas that came out in the form of three different vet bills. A week ago tomorrow I had to have the vet out for the first time this was after a week of looking off on his back leg,she gave him bute and diagnosed him with having a locking back stifle. She recommended that he needed to be going out a little bit more than he has been , so Sunday I put him out in his knew field for the day and bought him back in at night time. This brings us to Monday morning, I went to bring him out the stable and he was hopping lame. Just a quick post from me today, sorry I haven't posted in a while, it's not even that I have been that busy I just haven't been on my laptop much recently and updating from my phone is a pain!  So what's new?  Magic is doing really well it's been a few weeks since I've seen him but he's good! Last time I saw him he was letting me touch him willingly and he was following me (or more I was following) and playing with him around the field! He's being delivered on the 10th Of October (which would have been my Nan's birthday), his stables sorted, I know what bedding I'm using. Now all I need to do is sort out feeding, worming, dentist and the farrier! Yeah not much at all, next joke lol. I've sorted out some rugs as my amazing riding teacher has kindly offered to give me some rugs for him. Today my mum, Jack and I went to see Magic. It's a long drive so I only get to go every now and then, sort of once a week. He's growing loads, I am amazed by how quickly he's growing to be honest, I think he's going to be a big boy once he gets older. He's also really curious, every time I go and see him he's more and more interested in what I am doing and what I've got with me and it's just so much fun to watch him. The first time that I went to see him he wouldn't come anywhere near me, the next time he let me touch his nose, the time after that he let me stroke his back but then he would run away after. But today I decided to go with a different strategy, the weather was quite hot, so I chilled in the field, I just went there and switched between lying down in the field and sitting there, and that caught Magic's interest, he wanted to know what I was doing. Well I figured while I was dog sitting what better time to update my blog? For those that have me on Facebook you'll know that I haven't been very well recently, exactly a week ago I was in hospital and on Morphine, unable to eat or drink without throwing up everywhere, with a high temperature and extremely bad stomach cramps. The hospital couldn't tell me what was causing the pain but have told me to take it easy and not do a lot. So for the past week I've pretty much been bed bound or when I do go out not going very far. But I have had my amazing boyfriend looking after me, honestly he's been great, he knows how to deal with me when I'm ill but also knows how to kick my ass in to gear when it needs it, and my mum who has also been amazing, she's had to put up with my bad moods and hasn't even complained. Well I have finally got around to naming my baby horse and he is called magic for short. His posh/show name isn't set in concrete yet but it will be either mystical black magic, black magic or maybe even midnight magic, I've not decided yet, I just know that his name will be magic. I'll let you know more when I know more.  Now I wanted to ask whether you guys had an opinion on clicker training, and if you think it works or not. This is something that I haven't worked with before but am doing my research in to. I also wondered how you guys that have got baby horses got them used to wearing a head collar/halter and did you guys use a foal slip? Obviously I'm just learning and need to do lots more research but I would also be extremely grateful for any opinions or advice that you guys have!  In other news I have joined the gym and am on a mission to lose weight, tone up and get fit. Well a baby horse that is! Haha I wonder how many of you thought something different with my post title. I hadn't though of any funny post titles in a while so I thought that this could be one. For those of you that have been following my blog you'll have seen my debate about whether I wanted to get an older horse or a foal and the decision that I came to was that I wanted a baby horse. The main reason for this was the horses history. At my yard, I've seen a few people that thought that they had got an amazing horse and then as time goes on without problems have been found to do with its past, so my thoughts with having a baby horse are the fact that I will know 100% the horses history. Well for those of you that have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I've always wanted to try riding bareback but that I have never had the opportunity to do it before. A couple of weeks ago I told Fiona that I really wanted to do it and explained that I thought that it would help me really be able to feel how to get Gatsby in to an outline. After explaining this Fiona said I could have a go and three weeks later thats exactly what I got to do. I started out by riding with the saddle, just to be able to warm up, making sure that I could swing in the saddle without feeling restricted, we did a bit of walk, trot and canter work and mainly focused on getting him in the outline. I wanted to make sure that Gatsby was forward but also that he was willing accepting contact and moving in to the outline. I wanted him to feel that he was doing the right thing by accepting small amounts of pressure on the rein and only having to occasionally reinforce the contact and make it ...

…And I am going insane. It's weird the effects horses have on me but I feel like when I'm not around horses that often I'm just not very chilled out an calm the majority of the time. Yesterday and today have both been fairly quiet. I haven't really done a lot, I played on my playstation with Jack, completed a series of prison break, and did some more hula hooping to try and lose weight and tone myself up a little bit. Tonight I am off to work at the part time job that I share with Jack (The River Garden Chinese as a Delivery driver).  Saturday I am back to riding normally and I can not wait. I'm buzzing about it. This will hopefully be the week that I finally get to ride bare back but only time will tell. But anyway that's it and theres nothing interesting left for me to say. AmberRose.

Well I got reminded last night that I don't think I ever posted on here the results from my dressage competition, I didn't manage to place in either of the tests but the good news is that in both of them I was one place of placing. I got 7th in both and even managed to get a '9' score on my first test. My riding was better in the walk trot test because I had a bit of a melt down in the second test because instead of focusing on what I was doing I was stressing about who was judging me however I didn't come last on either of them so I was quite happy.
