Busy but productive day at the stables

Today has been a good day but a long day at the stables, I got there for 9.30 this morning to help Fiona out and Suzanne came up to help out too. We had all the horses to muck out and the weather was horrible, it was chucking it down. I mucked out Little Rocky, Percy, Gatsby, Soly and Sam's stable. I then put in their stables Gatsby (the trouble maker), Sam, Vettie, Chloe, Fussy, Rosie and then Fiona did the others. We then started debating bedding, for the past few months the stables have had straw pellet bedding in, but it looks dirty all the time. Yes it's easier to muck out but it doesn't look good. Thursday Fiona decided to put in Bliss bedding, this looks amazing, and smells clean and fresh BUT is a nightmare to muck out, it takes forever, it clumps together and you end up taking to much of the bedding out. So we're going back to using Aqua max bedding at the minute. That looks clean and fresh and is easy to muck out but it's expensive!  After I'd f...

good couple of rides but dog problems

Well it's been a long and tiring few days but I have had a good couple of rides too. I rode Gatsby on Sunday and we worked on the Canter. We did this really cool exercise that was really tiring but it was so much fun to do. We warmed up briefly (as Gatsby had already been rode and I was feeling fairly well stretched and warmed up). I got Gatsby working nicely but very very forward in the walk and trot then we moved on to canter the idea was that we did two 20m circles with three poles at three points of the circle. At the fourth point and over 'x' there was a box. The idea was that we would canter over the poles on the 20m circle at 'a' when we got to the box we would come back to trot or walk, and then change the bend picking up the opposite canter lead (because you're going around the circle the opposite way) to go around the circle at 'c'. We were basically doing a canter figure of 8 with a simple change over 'x' building up to doing a flying...

Lots of pics!

Some photographs taken with my new lens now all I need to do is water mark them and put them on my business facebook page and my website. Until Next Time A Girl With A Dream

First time helping out at a University photoshoot (and acting like a big kid).

Just a quick post from me. Today has been a long day but in some aspects has also been really productive. This morning I helped my mum do the food shopping and then I watched T.V. for a bit before it was time to head in to University. I'd agreed with Charmaine that I would help her with her photoshoot and this is also meant that we got some pretty funny photographs!  This was far too much fun!  This evening I watched some more T.V. then went to my local youth group, it started off going really well and we had a good laugh, Evie and I even spent an hour playing on just dance. It's safe to say between us we hold most of the high scores on it.  But then an incident happened and it just went down hill from there, I'm not going to bore you with the details.  What we do when we are waiting for people to turn up, sat like this then we both went 'how you doing' in a really funny way when she walked in! After we had finished at the youth group we then went to ...

Plenty of photo's!

I love this photograph! I know Angel isn't completely in focus but I think it's cute! I bought her this bone 3weeks ago and she's still working her was through it but it IS HUGE compared to her!  This Photograph and the ones above where all done using manual focus, I also experimented with a few other things and loved how these ones turned out.  The photographs that you will see below this are photos that might be being used for the media pack front cover. Let me know which one's you guys like the most of course my favourites are the ones with horses in!  View from up the road near where I live the main focus of this photograph was the leaves/tree in the top left hand corner. I love how it worked out and this was also done in manual shooting.  I love how this one has kind of framed the top left hand corner and left hand side by the angle that I took it at! It looks better than I first thought it would do.   Another view from near w...

Fellow Bloggers Competition time!

If you haven't already then head over to She Moved To Texas where you will find her competition ! Her blogs fun to read and she is currently doing a series on Photography. The winner will receive a Horze Halter, so head over and check it out now :).  Today I haven't really done a lot, I managed to sleep better last night so wasn't feeling as tired today, my Dad and I even got around to taking our dog for a walk. It's a nice walk that we discovered about a year ago and the best part is that the majority of it is off the road! I will have to take my camera one day so that you guys can enjoy the view to!  Until Next Time  A Girl With A Dream

Clipping Angel

This is a quick post of something that I thought would make you all laugh. As you will all know we have a Shih Tzu puppy called Angel, we inherited her from my sister who didn't have the time to give Angel the attention she deserved, so while we never planned on having a Shih Tzu we did get one!  Shih Tzu's come with two different types of coats matt haired and silky haired. Here comes the difference with Angel, Angel has both meaning that she knots easily and quickly. When we first got her we tried taking her to a dog groomer, but she had a bad experience there and ever since that has hated being bathed, clipped or brushed meaning that trying to keep her knot free is hard work!  Recently my mum bought a new pair of clippers, in the morning she clipped the majority of Angel but was struggling with her ears, so left her alone for it then we came back to ear later. Because of Angel having two coat types it means that her ears get matted easily basically turning them in ...

DIY, Driving and seeing Family

I am finally curled up in bed watching tv with my ever so cuddly dog. Angel is funny she doesn't like people coming in the house and will bark for hours if someone different comes to the house. But when it's just us in the house she is so dopey and stuff shell curl up with us and give everyone cuddles she's a great little dog.  This morning I went to fetch a desk that i had reserved off argos' website. We picked it up and then came the fun part putting it together. Now DIY I am not very good at so I had to get my mum to help me put it together. So it is now up in my room.  Today I got to see my nephew and my sister again and he is starting to be one cheeky little fella. When he's doing something wrong he knows that he is and gets this looks on his face it is the same thing that happens when you tell him no. He knows the difference between being right or wrong, and he's really clever. Earlier he kept walking I'm to what was my nans part of the house ...

New Look - New Year - A Tad Late!

Okay so this is a little bit late but I have been wanting to do it since the new year, with the new year been and gone I decided that it was time to give my blog a new look. I've spent so long looking for a blogger template that I really liked and I couldn't find any until I stumbled across this one by accident and I decided that I really liked it. I think the thing that I liked the most about this template is that I could put a slider in, so I chose four of the pictures I have of Gatsby and make them in to a slider, so all you need to do to look at them is click the green arrow that it shows. Let me know what you guys think. Also it means that my slider can change depending on the time of the year and that kind of the thing making my blog a bit more seasonal! I think the only thing that I would change would be that this is a three column template not a tow column template, does anyone know if there is a way to decrease the amount of columns from three down to two?   So f...

Busy Days and Nan's Return

Today was another pretty much full day in school, when I went in I had got double textiles I used the time to finish off my final garment which was roughly three inches of beading, so that it is finished four weeks early I'm really happy with this as normally I still have loads to do near the end and that's not the case this time. I then had my lunch time, I spent some time looking at Mini's trying to find out a rough price, and also looked at personalized plates as originally it was said that I would get my mum's plate which is L12 ASR, which is my mum's name Liz and my initials at the end, but I saw one that I liked that was 'MM02 AMB', the amb part would stand for amber, MM stands for Mini Milk which is what my sister used to call with me, and 02 was just two random numbers.  I then had English and we were looking more in depth at the second scene of the White Devil, as this is the exam book and I want to get the best understanding as I can, my Engli...

Feeling Privileged

Recently I've been talking to this girl on facebook that I've met a couple of times through Riding we'll call her A. She is such a sweet girl and lovely to chat to and we had got to know each other like I said through riding. When I went on facebook tonight it said that A had tagged me in a photograph, I was really confused because I hadn't seen her and thought she hadn't got any pictures of me but when I looked at it, it made sense. She had tagged me in a photograph she'd taken and wanted my opinion of her work. I felt so Privileged and honored that someone was looking to me for advice on their work. I told her what I thought and then she asked if I knew of any Editing software, my first thought was Photoshop but that was too expensive for her! So I did some looking and found a serif software that she could download for free and use to edit her photographs, she's currently downloading it and is asking me questions about what GCSE's I did and what could...
