Showing posts with the label weight loss

A rather plain and simple day

okay so todays post won't be as  long as I am absolutely exhausted. I actually managed to get to sleep at a normal time 1am instead of 4 or 5am. I then got 9 hours sleep before waking up and feeling quite rejuvenated. Jack and I watched some T.V. for a little bit before heading over to see my mum and dad. We took my mum to the supermarket got rid of the rubbish out of the boot of my car, then went to get myself some scales (to weigh my food up so I can be stricter with my fitness pal). I'm really trying to be strict with my weight loss so everything I eat gets added to the app, and I obviously have my fitbit as well so that the calories in vs out is more accurate. I do plan on doing a blog post about my weight loss journey but that will have to be another day as to be honest i'm ready for bed now. After we had dropped my mum off and gone home, I made tea for Jack and I before taking some time to chill out and watch the soaps. After this was done I took the dogs for...

gym, magic's work continued.

Magic was really good today. I wasn't feeling great when I woke up this morning so I wasn't sure whether I would be up for doing Magic, however jack agreed to do his stable (which of course means magic always gets spoiled for bedding so he loves that). So I took the opportunity to take magic in to the school. I put his roller on, put his bridle on and put his cavesson on. It was the first break in the rubbish weather that we had been having all day then we took him in to the school. I really wanted to concentrate on getting Magic to relax when working. Today we did a bit harder work, doing both walk and trot work to the left and right. We stuck to doing 4 minutes work each way. Every time that I got magic to change what we were doing, I would get him to come back in to the centre and give him a fuss and a rub on his head where his white markings are, his new favourite place to be rubbed. When we had finished doing the work we then walked around the school for a little bit, jus...

catching up - new goals and ambitions

Hi everyone, Sorry for the lack of posting over the Christmas period, I thought that I would have some time off ready to hit the new year with posts every date and plenty of magic updates. When I first started writing this blog it was a journey to getting my own horse, a journey through my riding, and a journey to where I would end up in life. Now part of that journey has been completed, I have my very own horse, the only real dream that I have had since a young age has come true, and I'm not going to stop there. So as life is a journey I've decided that the best thing to do is keep writing my blog. So what's to come in this journey? Me completing my BHS stages and exams, both in riding, teaching, care and lunging. I aim to get my own stables and yard, that will primarily be a livery yard but will also be a rescuing and rehoming centre for animals that really need help, while it will mainly be horses, I'd like to think that I could include other animals too. Making...

Lunging Magic, Desensitisation and just having fun!

so yesterday I didn't get around to writing my blog post I was feeling a little bit under the weather so spent the evening curled up with the dogs, watching Heartland on Netflix. However we also had a really good session with Magic yesterday too, my dad and mum did magic's stable to save me some time, and I got to giving Magic a brush and taking his rugs off. After this I put Magic's Cavesson on again and then gently placed Magic's bridle on. The idea was to do a little bit more work with him as long as he was happy to do it, it's only over the past week that I have started incorporating more work. So if he wasn't happy then we weren't going to do it. However I was amazed when Magic was happy to go in to the school and just got straight to it. We mainly focused on walk work going clockwise to start with but then Magic picked up a trot so we went with it, we spent a few minutes going this way before I asked him to stand again and then bought him back to walk...

Advice please

Okay guys so I'm looking for advice over a couple of things. Magic is now just over one, when he turned one I used some bailing twine as advised by my yard owner to measure how big a bit Magic would need and it came back as a 5 inch happy mouth snaffle, I got the one with a lozenge in. However today when I went to put it in he let me put it in fine and then kept putting it under his tongue, but every time I went to look in his mouth he'd put his tongue back again. Can anyone give me any advice on whether this is just part of his learning process or whether this is because it's too big or something like this? Or is it just that I am not managing to get the bit high enough?  See my boy has such a stunning coat, and is looking good, just looking slightly thin at the moment in time.  Also another thing is Magic has one large feed a day (the amount is still with in the guidelines and restrictions though), and he comes in for an hour or so and will eat one large hay net in...

15. In hand work and weight loss progress

Hiya everyone, Well today has been a slightly better day. Although I can safely say that I am aching like mad now!! I spent the morning in bed with my man, I just felt like for whatever reason I needed to get some sleep. Then when I did wake up I spent a while reading my slimming world magazine, I also made a start on finishing the rug I'm making for magic I've got one more bit to do tomorrow and then it will be finished. Then while jack went for his driving lesson. I went to see magic. When I got there he was lying down and didn't really want to get up but eventually he did do. I put his head collar on and we went up to the school. I was a little bit apprehensive as to how he was going to be in the school because obviously we did not end on a good note. But he was amazing, if anything he was a little bit subdued and quiet today. He walked next to my shoulder perfectly, other than when he tripped he didn't put a foot wrong. I then asked him to trot and while he was ...

First working day tomorrow :D

Hiya everyone,  well theres no news on the horse front at the minute and I've had a really boring day today, I've basically spent most of the day just sleeping (hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight). I did go to boots to weigh myself and have discovered that I have lost 2ibs in the last week. For those of you that are interested in my weight loss journey I have also created a page that is called 'Weight loss progress', here you'll be able to see the changes each week and how much I put on or lose during a week. This is more for my own benefit but feel free to check it out.  Tomorrow I officially start working at my stables it's going to be so much fun and I really can not wait. I saw this photograph on Facebook and thought that I would share it with you guys :D  Until Next Time  A Girl With A Dream

Tomorrow is my textiles deadline.

Today has been a long day so this won't be a long post. Tomorrow is my textiles dead line so I haven't really done anything but textiles today. Today also would have been the first day of my A2 art coursework it was so annoying to know I've worked for a year at my art work and three weeks from the end I have had to give it up. I also had some really exciting news for me today. As my textiles dead line so is tomorrow i needed to take my pictures in my garment tonight. Well as you will all know recently I have been working really hard to lose weight. About a month ago this garments fit me like a glove well not now. The garments massive on me! I even had to get my mum to pin me into the garment. I was buzzing that I lost weight now all I need to figure out is how to get the garments to stay on for the final textiles fashion show. The pictures that I have taken today will be in a post soon.  I need to be up early tomorrow to finish of  my coursework  So  Until...
