The five main horses in my life so far.

1)The Intro Horse.  We each came into horses in our own way, but it was always with a horse leading us. This might have been a friend's first pony or perhaps it was a draft horse on a farm that you visited once. It might have been a real-life meeting, or an imaginary one. I've always liked horses ever since I was little, I can't even imagine what the first horse that made me want to ride was because the love was always there. However here are a couple the first was a horse that I nick named 'Holly' she lived at the back of one of the pubs that we used to go in as a kid and I loved wandering off to go and stroke her and watch her in the field. However as I kid I also loved StarLite out of Rainbow Brite I used to read the book all the time, and of course I loved Black Beauty.  2) The Experimental Horse Once you had crossed the line between 'Darn. they're big!' and 'Wow, Can  I try that?' you found yourself face to face with the h...

Collegial Equestrian Blog hop

Well seen as there is nothing going on for me in the horse world today I thought that I would do the blog hop now, and probably a smaller post later just about my day in general, random thoughts you know the normal kind of thing that I tend to do. So while I was reading some blogs I noticed that Equestrian At Hart and Viva Carlos had done a blog hop that had been started by Collegial Equestrian and thought why not I might as well join in too soo here goes.   So here goes the theme is Share a memory from:  The first horse experience that you can remember.  Your first 'aha' moment - when something really clicked for you as a rider. Entering the Ring. Could be your first show, or another time when simply entering the arena could be considered a 'debut' of sorts.   Here are my answers:- The first horse experience that I can remember, was seeing horses and always wanting to stroke them and getting my mum to pull over at the side of the road next...

Goals and Videos!

Hey everybody,  Well I always wanted to post videos of my riding on my blog as I have quite a lot of my riding over the years! So today I have decided that I am going to attempt it, how hard can it be?but first of all I am going to tell you all my goals for 2013 I don't have many but a few is better than none right? So here goes :-  Most important goal - BUY MY OWN HORSE! I've been saving up and am aiming for having my own horse this year, plans might not go that way but thats what I aiming towards and what I want more than anything!  Manage to keep my elbows tucked in!  Work on cantering and jumping, probably over the summer and begin to feel more confident and less nervous doing it! Lose weight and not eat during the middle of the night, it's not really a horse goal but it can help my riding.  Take lots of horse related Pictures   YAY it actually worked, so above are some videos of the two main horses in my life. Gatsby you all kno...

photographs

Today I have chosen to use my riding pictures that my mum has spent taking for me over the years, and tell you a bit about each photo, I'm not sure how many photo's I intend to do at the start of this post but I will warn you all in advance that this could possibly be a long post with plenty of pictures of all the horses that I have the pleasure to ride, this will very from horse's that I have rode when I was young to horses that I still ride to this day like Jake. Also to let you all know I will be posting pictures of some of my textiles work tomorrow so you can all let me know what you think and you can see what I have spent my time doing so far this summer holiday. Right on to the main part of my post PHOTOGRAPHS!   First off is Gatsby, Gatsby is a horse that I have been riding since the beginning of January but that I have instantly fallen in love with and have been riding him ever since, this was the week before my last lesson when we were working on jump...
Hey Guys we'll ive heard a little bit more about Arthur today, he was rode by the staff for the past two days and hasnt shown up being lame but I have been told it will be a last minute thing whether I know if i will be doing the competition! so what have i been doing today? Well this morning i took my daddy to the hospital whos got to have his eyes checked because of being diabetic and cause of glucomer (no idea what it is or if thats even how you spell it)! Then I went to see my gorgeous big sister and my little Nephew Brody, who was all awake and hyper until towards the end when he started to get hyper because he was becoming tired which as you can imagine at 6 months old you know when he is getting tired! I then went in to school for two hours for a revision session for my english lit exam that is tomorrow! Hopefully my spelling will be better by then but you never know it might not be hehe nah I am sure that everything is going to go fine, In the morning I've got my ph...

The pony behind the Girl

Okay so today i though i would tell you more about the horse thats made me who I am, he's a piebald cob that goes by the name of Jake, or Jakey Boo, or various different names depending on whether he behaves or not that more times than not he doesn't do. He's about 14 years old maybe older than that and thinks that hes a 3 year old that gets him to have as much fun as he really wants too. To most people he might not look like much but to me he is the best horse in the world. He might be over weight and he might be lame on and off but to me he is magical, he's a horse that bought my riding on to where it is now, and I will always love him no matter what. Things Jake loves, carrots, food of any kind, definitely polo's, lots of attention although iif you overcrowd him he is not going to be happy. What doesn't he like? WORK, having his hoofs picked, work again and being away from his mates, yes he might be a big baby but thats why i love him. I've r...
